'died suddenly Wednesday at 6:15 pjtt. in S t Mary's Hospital where he had been a patient for one day.

Police Officer, Prisoner Killed in Pistol Battle
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (*> — A young man being questioned about a liquor store shooting, fatally wounded a high-ranking police officer late last night and then died under police gunfire.
A second policeman and a liquor itore clerk also were wounded critically.
Inspector Albert A Kelly, 55, second In command in the Indianapolis Police Department, died in General Hospital early today, an hour after being shot in a room at the York Hotel, in the downtown area.
The gunman, identified as James Bennett Baker, 22, Whittraville, Mass., was killed in the hotel room, riddled by bullets from the gun of Sgt Edward L. Clark, 40.
Clark's partner, Patrolman William Beaumont, 38, was in critical condition with wounds in the hack and stomach.

Herbert Coleman, 3, and] Sandria Coleman, 21 months, died yesterday in a flash Are that destroyed their rural home at North Hoosick.
Their mother, Mrs. Shirley Switts, 23, said the fire broke out while she was 50 yards away in the home of a neighbor.
She told police she had gone to borrow water.
It was believed that an oil stove
had exploded and started the fire in' the Ui-story frame house near this Rensselaer County community.
The Children's father, Herbert Coleman of Winton, Pa., has not been living with the family. Police said Mrs. Switts had resumed the name of her first husband after separating from Coleman.

Pvt. Dorus J. Du Rose, son of Mrs. Aha L. Du Rose, 10 Corey St, recently completed 10 weeks of advanced individual training under the packet platoon system at the Army's Armor Training Center, Fort Knox, Ky.
Du Rose was trained to drive the Army's medium tank. He
passed the .80 and 4» caliber machine gun proficiency tests and qualified as a gunner In the firing of the 90 millimeter tank gun.

Weldemann received eight weeks of automotive maintenance helpers training after completing basic combat training at Fort Knox
Men volunteering for the RFA program are permitted to finish their military obligation in local Army Reserve or National Guard units.
He is a 1956 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam.
