SUMMER FAIR
Next Fri 30th June
Free entry
2.45pm—4.30pm
Listen to the school band and
Oaks choir at 2.45pm and go
join all the fun of the fair.
Y2 Gym Squads in Action
These two gym teams took part in the Calderdale Under 8
Gymnastics Display earlier this week.
In front of over 1200 specta-tors, the children must have
been very nervous! However, the hard work they put in honed their routines so
that they performed them really well.
The scores of parents and staff from Old Earth joined in the cheers at the end of each
routine. A great evening.

Sponsored ‘Toddle’
It was lovely to watch the children, staff & parents join in the charity Toddle this Wednesday, in aid of the Forget
Me Not Hospice for children. Thank you to all who joined in and all those who donat-
ed. If parents haven't returned their form yet, please bring it back by Fri-
day 30th June. We will let you know the total once it has all been counted.
Thank you.
Report by Francesca, Lauren & Zoe On the way to Timberlodge in Ingleton, we stopped at Doe Park to do Kayaking, Canoeing and sailing on in-flatable boats. It was so hot that it was good when we
fell in the water to cool down! An hour later on the minibuses we were at Ingleton. We couldn’t wait to see what our rooms were like!!!!!
Hooray, they were brilliant. We had a delicious BBQ for tea and then played
games outside. The evening finished and we watched a really funny magic show from Mr Stephens and Mr
Freeman. We woke up early on the second day and had our cooked breakfast which was really tasty. Later we went on the Ingleton Waterfalls Walk. This was 4.5
miles long and was tiring but enjoyable. After the long walk we really enjoyed swimming in the
outdoor pool—a good way to cool off. We came back to school and it was like we had been away for ages, but it was only 3 BRILLIANT days !!!!!!

played at the annual Calderdale wide tournament
this week. They performed superbly in the
morning, winning their group and qualifying for the knockout stages. Sadly, the team couldn’t quite push on losing in the
semis. However a final strong performance led them to winning the third place play-off and with that, the
Bronze Medal!
GIRLS’ CRICKET : U11 Calderdale Girls Cricket @ Barkisland CC
The girls won two games, defeating Ripponden by 26 runs and Salterhebble by 31
runs. We unfortunately lost by 21 runs to Beech Hill - who were the
eventual winners of our group. The girls played
some fantastic Cricket and showed a great attitude
throughout. For many of them it was their first ever Cricket match. Star player - Laura Humphreys for
her hard hitting batting and accurate bowling.
