McDonough 4 & 5 Network Improvement
Construct the Jack McDonough – Smyrna 230 kV line via Cumberland (convert from 115 kV) and Galleria (new) substations. Add a 5 element, 230 kV ring bus at Smyrna and replace the 300 MVA 230 / 115 kV transformer with two 400 MVA transformers.
The loss of the Jack McDonough – Peachtree 230 kV T.L. will cause overloading of the facilities surrounding McDonough.

Problem:Loss of the Groover Lake segment of the Douglasville – Greenbriar 115kV line overloads the East Point – Gordon Rd. Jct. as early as 2011.
Solution:•Breaker up Buzzard Roost 230kV•Add 230kV line Thornton Rd. to Factory Shoals.•Add 230/115 autobank and 115 breakers at Factory Shoals.
