Oklahoma City (OKC)

okc is the largest city in the State of Oklahoma with a

metro population of more than 1.3 million.

Oklahoma City University is located in the Uptown 23rd

district of Oklahoma City—the home to one of the

latest neighborhood revitalization projects in OKC. You’ll

find great locally owned restaurants and fun boutiques

all within walking distance. Uptown 23rd is home to the

historic Gold Dome building and borders Oklahoma City’s

Asian District.

Oklahoma City University is less than a five-minute

walk from okc’s Asian District, home to many Asian

restaurants as well as one of the largest Asian grocery

stores in the region.

Bricktown is Oklahoma City’s hottest entertainment

and dining district and is located only 4 miles from

Oklahoma City University. Bricktown offers a variety

of activities including OKC Thunder games, dozens of

restaurants, shopping, Harkins Movie Theatre, and the

Bricktown Ballpark.

A short distance from the university, you can find

Vietnamese, Chinese, Indian, Middle Eastern, Korean,

Colombian, and a variety of other ethnic restaurants.

The Oklahoma River is an official U.S. Olympic &

Paralympic Training site for rowing and canoe/kayak.

The Paseo District (a few blocks from campus) is home

to 20 art galleries and more than 75 artists.

The Civic Center Music Hall hosts 600 world-class shows

each year.

okc is home to a variety of museums including art, natural

history, osteology, and the National Cowboy & Western

Heritage Museum.

okc is home to the nba’s Oklahoma City Thunder; the

Oklahoma City Dodgers, a triple-A affiliate baseball team;

and the Oklahoma City Energy fc soccer team.

Within an hour’s drive of Oklahoma City, you will find

more than 50 lakes, dozens of miles of trails, and 33

golf courses.

okc has one of the lowest costs of living in the country—

an average apartment costs less than $600 per month.

Oklahoma City University is only 10 miles from Will

Rogers World Airport, which offers 75 daily departures

and 22 nonstop connections.

ELS Language CenterA center is located on the ocu campus and

offers 12 levels. Students who complete

els Level 112 do not need to take the

toefl or ielts. Undergraduate students

taking levels 110, 111 and 112 may

enroll concurrently in ocu courses
