The OKI 831TS is a robust second generation transfer printer designed specifically for printing onto transfer paper for digital decorating onto many different types of apparel including: Cotton/Polyester T-shirts, Hoodies, Mouse pads and many other fabrics. In addition, this printer will print on to hard sur-face paper to decorate mugs, wood, glass, and many more!

Q: What Process Does the OKI 831TS Use?

A: The printer uses toner to print onto the transfer paper. Then, using a heat press, you can transfer the printed transfer paper to the shirts. This versatile LED laser printer is designed for transfer papers and will accept a large variety of papers, including TrimFree, CL 140, CL Dark Premium, CL Dark II, CL Hard Surface I&II and also other branded transfer papers!

Q: How is the OKI 831TS Transfer Process Different Than Desktop Sublimation Or Direct To Garment?

A: There’s less restrictions put on this process. Sublimation is limited to polyester fabrics. Direct To Garment Printers are limited to cotton or 50/50 blends. With the OKI 831TS system, you can print onto both 100% cotton, 100% polyester or blends! In addition, the cost per print from an OKI 831TS is usually cheaper than the other two options.

Q: What Does the Maintenance of the Printer Involve?

A: Because the OKI 831TS is a LED laser printer, there is no requirement to clean the heads, or check that all the nozzles are firing.

The only maintenance that is required is to swap out consumable such as the toner and drums when they are expended. Standard toners last roughly around 10,000 pages and the drums last 30,000 pages. Consumable are easy to replace and require no tools.

Q: How Fast Does the OKI 831TS Print an Image?

A: Amazingly Fast! It can print up to 8ppm letter-sized images per minute or 480 per hour.
