advanced GIs Learn the essentials of using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to create maps, and edit and manage GIS data and projects. More advanced topics include raster analysis, working with 3D data, and network datasets. Students will learn how to use GPS technologies to gather data and perform GIS analysis. In addition to an in-depth study of relational databases and how these databases are used within GIS, students will complete two major projects of their own design and a directed project of the type they would encounter in an employment situation. Custodial Worker This program prepares students for entry into the building service industry in custodial work, and provides upgrading for those currently employed in the industry. Medical device Reprocessing technicianWith a focus on disease prevention, this 814-hour program prepares students for a career combating micro-organisms and creating safe and hygienic environments for patients. Gain a comprehensive knowledge of aseptic techniques, infection control, cleaning, sterilization, the handling and storage of sterile supplies and decontamination procedures. nursing Unit assistant A nursing unit assistant is a key member of a hospital health care team who assembles and maintains patient charts, handles the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, processes physicians' orders relating to medications, laboratory and diagnostic tests, and surgical or treatment plans, and performs standard receptionist duties. Project Management This intermediate-level 138-hour Certificate provides students with project management knowledge, strategies and tools that can be applied in the workplace. Delivered in a blended learning format that offers a flexible and interactive learning environment, the certificate is designed for project managers at all levels. Project management skills are required in most work environments and project managers can be found in a variety of fields, including government, construction, health, education, information technology, oil and gas, the non-profit sector and business.
