Bookkeeping Bridging The Bookkeeping Bridging Certificate program is designed for students who have already acquired some financial accounting knowledge, and who wish to add to their employable accounting skills. This program covers the use of Computerized Accounting software and Payroll Administration. Work with general ledgers, learn how to print month-end statements and maintain daily transactions, and work with accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and job costing. Use computerized accounting software to create company files, record transactions in ledgers, print month-end statements. and establish computerized accounting records. Introduction to Wine MicrobiologyThis lecture course examines the microbiology of all aspects of wine production. The course is intended for professional winemakers and laboratory/cellar staff at commercial wineries, as well as serious home winemakers. Topics include cell biology, yeast strains, the ecology of native flora, malolactic bacteria, the impact of nutrition on fermentation outcomes, managing microbial growth, and the sources and control of microbially derived aromas and taints.Course code: AGR 142PE: Feb. 11 - 14, Tue - Fri, 1 - 4:30 PM CRN: 80570$309 (+ GST)

sensory evaluation in WinemakingAn overview of common wine flaws and faults, including sulphur compounds, oxidative aromas, cork taint, microbial induced aromas/flavours. Wine Regulations demystifiedThere are many laws regulating wine and other alcoholic beverages, and it can be hard to keep all the rules, responsibilities and requirements in order. This course will walk you through the myriad of legislation and demystify any confusion. Topics to be addressed include wine bottle labelling, wine distribution, wine taxation, geographical indicators, VQA designations, licensing, and limitations regarding the provincial importation of liquor. Okanagan College reserves the right to cancel or postpone a course due to low enrolment, unavailability of instructors, facilities, or other unforeseen circumstances. If it is necessary to cancel a class, Okanagan College will provide students with 48 hours notice whenever possible.
