I think if we keep all the negativaty Jim ,Micheal and Eyal are going to close this site. I've

only been here since November but it keeps getting worse and worse. If we keep

complaining about the people that support this site why keep it you would think its not worth

it to them. If it weren't for this site all the things said about the Swiss made and the DD

wouldn't be going around.

I started this thread to get people to calm down and let this thing die down for a while.

Wasnt stoking the fire. Was looking for people tolook at what's going on and let everything

settle down and wait for all the facts to come in. If you look at what Jim suggested it's the

same thing. Calm down and wait for it. I'm not being negative, I'm not being judgemental.

Just pointing out we're arguing with each other for no good reason.

So just because some people opened a site that means that people cant express an opinion

about them? Only positive comments are welcome? If you ask me, that is the WORST type

of forum that could possibly exist. One of the reasons that I always loved this place is

because we were allowed to post any opinion we wanted as long as it was done in a

The way to get the owners to not close the site (not that I think they will) is not to stop

I'll quote Santayana's famous proverb:

"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

If we allow these issues to fall from the collective consciousness then what incentive does it

give Invicta to address them?

That being said, whole discussing these issues, personal attacks should not be condoned.

I'm sure no one is doubting your good intentions, but your point has already been

made...repeatedly. Starting this thread is flaming the fire, so we should let this rest until we

hear something official.

News flash>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The silence is deafening.

Bottom line is this, if you like what you see, buy it. There seems to have been many issues

and lots of controversy over the past year with Renato and Invicta at the forefront of the

forum problem discussions. (Not necessarly in that order). Those of us that have been

enjoying this fine hobby for awhile know the pros and cons of said brands. If you feel that

Page 11: Ok, that's about enough

buying something is pro for you, buy it regardless of how it is sold and enjoy wearing it. If

you feel that it is con for you (or that it is a con job) don't buy it. You have the power, you

have the choice.

Truth is, both companies do have some beautiful pieces at good prices. So, if you buy them,

just enjoy them. If they don't work, send em back. This is just the way things are. Accept

them or you will be brought in for reprogramming! (JK)

Many buyers here purchase through the shop & use this forum to relate to others about the

I respectfully disagree. At the end of the day this is a watch forum, but also a huge

marketing tool for shopnbc and their watch brands. Two of the three owners here are

affiliated with ShopNBC/Invicta, and their job is to move watches. This is just another way

for them to promote the products.

And I don't have a problem with that...hell I signed up in the beginning when there were

only a couple hundred members. And I only signed up so I could view....guess what? The

sneak peak section.

This is a watch forum. You should be able to voice your opinion about the products you

recieve. If people are upset about stuff I want to know about it because that will help with

my decision making. Sometimes the complaining gets out of hand, but if people don't like

the complaining just jump on another thread. Just like if you don't like what is on the tv,

change the channel. There are plenty of other threads here.

the forum is not what they want. Meanwhile, we still haven't heard from the companies

involved. We're beating each other up for what? Lets all calm down and let the dust

settle. There will plenty of time after we hear from the powers that be to start this

hurricane all over again. Only thing different will be that we will have all the facts and

people will take their sides about it. My opinion really doesn't count so I wont give it. Let's

all behave like good kids again. Thank you.

I doubt we will hear much more from powers that be.

I don't see why we should.

Eyal wrote a post and people attacked it.

Why would he want to post anything else?

Certainly not so it could be attacked again.

Watches continue to be made and sold .

Eyal has a passion for the design and manufacturing end of watchmaking.

Eyal also has a passion for bringing his creations to market at the best possible prices.

He will continue to focus on these two passions, customer service will continue to be hit and

miss, and people will continue to buy watches.

ShopNBC hosts will continue to make statements that cannot possibly be true.

Not because they are lying, but because they are human and make mistakes.

The Shop will continue to get specs wrong from time to time for the same reason.

Eyal's business model necessitates that he find the most economical means to produce his

products while keeping with the quality standards he has set for the company and different

product lines so he will continue in that pursuit.

Whether people like it or not the Swiss Laws in this area are really broad enough to give

companies quite a bit of latitude. In our global economy with international trade agreements

that even effect the percentages mentioned in the most recently amended Swiss Laws on

this subject. We just need to take all of it with a grain of salt.

If people really want to dig deep I would be willing to bet they would find the better part of

the "Swiss Watch Industry" takes Barbosa's approach to the pirate code when producing and

marketing their watches.

Remember Barbosa said "... As for the code they're really more suggestions ..."

I really wonder how unilaterally these laws are enforced in the first place by the Swiss

Government and the Swiss Watch Organizations.

In other words, does a known Swiss company have more latitude then say an American

company wanting to use the Swiss Made label just because as a Swiss company it is

understood that it understands the essence of being Swiss better then a non Swiss

company?

Even people with love hate relationships with Invicta will likely say no more Invictas and

then Eyal and his team will do it again and something so utterly amazing in terms of eye

candy for the wrist is concerned will be debuted and many of these same people will say

"I hate you Eyal" as they give ShopNBC or Amazon or some other vendor their credit card

number while ordering the new watch.

So in the end watchnut62, aside from the waiting for companies to voice their opinions, I

Page 22: Ok, that's about enough

agree with you in principle.

If people like Invicta then keep posting in the Invicta Forum. If not, then why stick a

the Invicta forum.

There are plenty of other Forums right here at watchgeeks.net.

Take Care,
