The Product - MONCAT®

•  Monarch is the third largest manufacturer of Oils & Fatty Acid catalysts.

•  The MONCAT range of catalysts are manufactured in Monarch’s new plant based on Fludized Bed Reducer (FBR) technology

•  MONCAT is used for hydrogenation of fatty acids and oils to low IVs •  We also have catalysts for selective hydrogenation and brush

hydrogenation and sulphonated catalysts •  The Grades

–  MONCAT® 1991 – Full Hydrogenation of Fatty Acids –  MONCAT® 2021 – Full Hydrogenation of tri-glycerides –  MONCAT® 1051 – Sulphur promoted for High Trans –  MONCAT® 3921 – Partial Hydrogenation of tri-glycerides –  MONCAT® 1061 – Brush Hydrogenation for high Cis –  MONCAT® 1072 – Hydrogenate distilled Fatty Acids –  MONCAT® 2991 – Hydrogenation of Monomer Acids

MONCAT ® 1991

•  Applications of Stearic Acid – Manufacturing of soaps – Tires (Rubber Grade) – Cosmetics – Also used as hardener in

candies

•  Used for full hydrogenation of fatty acids.

•  To hydrogenate distilled fatty acids and acid oils to very low IV

•  Mainly used for the manufacture of STEARIC ACID

MONCAT ® 2021

•  Applications of Hydrogenated Oil – Hydrogenated oil is split

into glycerin and stearic acid

– Fats for making pastries & chocolates

– Hydrogenated castor oil is used to manufacture lubricants & grease

•  Used for full/partial hydrogenation of tri-glycerides.

•  To hydrogenate castor oil, palm oil, soya bean oil, tallow to very low IV

•  Mainly used for the manufacture of Hydrogenated Oils

MONCAT ® 3921

•  Applications of Vanaspati – For cooking, frying and

other edible purposes •  Used for partial

hydrogenation of tri-glycerides.

•  To hydrogenate palm oil, soya bean oil

•  Mainly used for the manufacture of Vanaspati or Margarine (High Trans Fat)

•  Applications of specialty fats – Main ingredient in

chocolates •  Used for

hydrogenation of tri-glycerides

•  To hydrogenate palm oil, soya bean oil

•  Mainly used for the manufacture of specialty fats (High Trans Fat) or Cocoa Butter Replacer (CBR)

•  Applications of Salad oil – Salad dressing oils

•  Used for brush hydrogenation of tri-glycerides

•  To hydrogenate palm oil, soya bean oil

•  Mainly used for the manufacture of salad oil

•  Still in the development stages, not produced commercially
