• This act is meant to regulate oil transportation and the liability that comes from an oil spill in U.S waters

• Under this act, companies have to have certain procedures and regulations in case of an oil spill so that the entire country isn’t liable

This act is enforced by the Coast Guard and the United States Environmental Protection Agency
