ALL Family of Companies Adds 600-ton LTM 1500-8.1 Crane

Sized ideally to work in refineries, industrial plants and wind farms, the eight-axle crane has a seven-section telescopic boom that extends to 276 ft. (84 m).

To fortify its AT fleet, the ALL Family of Companies pur-chased the second largest AT crane manufactured today —the LTM 1500-8.1. Only Liehberr’s LTM 11200-9.1 ATcrane (1,300-ton) surpasses the 1500-8.1 in size and power. With a rated capacity of 600 tons (544 t), it is the second

largest mobile crane in the ALL fleet. Sized ideally to workin refineries, industrial plants and wind farms, the eight-axlecrane has a seven-section telescopic boom that extends to276 ft. (84 m). With the lattice jib, the Liebherr can reach ahoisting height up to 476 ft. (145 m) at a radius of 354 ft.

(108 m). The addition of a Y-guying system gives support tothe boom, adding load capacity, particularly when liftinghigh but at a short radius.“This crane has an incredible chart and adds muscle to our

Canadian yards — a territory that’s hungry for such a beastof a crane,” said Michael Liptak, president of the ALLFamily of Companies. He added that the 600-ton crane willimmediately go to work at ALL Canada Cranes & Aerials, serving its three yards. “Our Canadian operation has expanded with two new

yards — a second one in Ontario and another inNewfoundland and Labrador. We recently were awardedsome major projects, making fortifying their fleet an easydecision.”Prior to this acquisition, ALL Canada’s largest mobile AT

crane was a Grove GMK7550, a high-demand 550-ton (500t) machine. The new Liebherr is highly anticipated and willfulfill a strong demand in the territory. For more information, call 800/232-4100 or visit

ODOT to Begin Construction on Columbus Crossroads ProjectThe Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will

begin a $200 million construction project to reduce conges-tion, improve safety and better connect neighborhoods at theInterstate 71 and 670 Interchange in Columbus this month. The public will first see orange construction barrels near

the interchange when several ramps close. The I-71/670 Interchange is the first Columbus

Crossroads Project, which will add a travel lane on I-670,construct 22 new bridges and 28 new retaining walls alongwith partial completion of two new urban avenues toimprove access and mobility.

“The modernization of this interstate corridor throughdowntown Columbus is one of the largest transportationprojects of its kind here in Central Ohio,”said ODOT District6 Deputy Director Ferzan Ahmed. “Our goal is to provide asafer highway and reduce crashes and congestion.”Kokosing Construction Company of Ohio along with

designer CH2M Hill was awarded the contract because theyhad the lowest bid and the best design proposal. The I-71/670 Interchange is a value based, design-build

project, where the construction and design are combined ina single contract, which allows ODOT to deliver a better

quality project more efficiently.During construction, two lanes of I-670 and 71 will be

maintained, but motorists should seek alternate routes orallow for extra travel time since many ramps will be closed, and there will be new traffic patterns on I-670 and for theNeil Avenue entrance ramp to I-670 east.A map of what ramps are open and closed during this first

phase of construction is available for viewing atwww.odot71670.org. For more information, call 877/381-7071.
