Observations

●The fish is red●The fish is made of a soft, thin

material●The fish moves when put on

hand ●The fish doesn't move the

same every time.

Hypothesis

● Hypothesis- An assumption of the outcome of an experiment following an “If_____Then____Because___” format.

● The independent variable should be in the “If” statement, and the dependent variable should follow the “Then” statement.

Page 5: Oh My Cod Jaide Brown, Eddy Burda, Spencer Hughes, Ryan Hilberg

● Independent Variable- The variable in an experiment that is being changed.

● Dependant Variable- The variable in an experiment that is affected by the change of the Independent Variable.

● Control Group- The group in the experiment that is not changed for comparison.

● Controlled Variables- Variables that don’t change.

Hypothesis (cont.)

Page 6: Oh My Cod Jaide Brown, Eddy Burda, Spencer Hughes, Ryan Hilberg

● Independent variable- Amount of moisture on our hands

● Dependent variable - The fish’s scale of movement from 1-10

● Control group - No moisture on our hands

● Controlled Variables - Same amount of water, same temperature, rubbed hands the same amount of time, same environment, same person each time

Hypothesis (cont.)

Page 7: Oh My Cod Jaide Brown, Eddy Burda, Spencer Hughes, Ryan Hilberg

Hypothesis (cont.)

● If we change the level of moisture on our hands, then the fish’s level of movement will vary because the fish reacts to moisture.

Page 8: Oh My Cod Jaide Brown, Eddy Burda, Spencer Hughes, Ryan Hilberg

Conclusion● The fish increases in movement when it comes

in contact with water● Supported our hypothesis ● Normal hand; 7 & 5 on scale of movement● Drop of water; 9 & 8 on scale of movement● Chalk; 2 & 4 on scale of movement
