It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any
participant at an event is not subject to indignities. The Conformation Show Committee Chair shall promptly
report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority
to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. (See Section 19.7)

Chapter 1 - Section 11 (b) W here a bitch comes into season after entry of the bitch has been subm itted to the
Trial Secretary, a veterinarian’s certificate, certifying that the bitch was in season within the ten day period
preceding the trial, m ust reach the Trial Secretary on or before the date of the trial. The Trial-giving Club will
refund the entry fee.
A dog which has earned its CD degree in the USA is not eligible for Novice “A” class and a dog which has
earned its CDX in the USA is not eligible in the Open “A” class. Such dogs m ust enter in Novice “B” or Open
“B” classes respectively.
6.7 Moving Up
6.7.1 A dog that is registered in the records of the CKC or has a PEN, an ERN, or a MCN and has fulfilled
the requirem ents for a title in accordance with these rules, may be moved to the next level of com petition.
The transfer must be submitted to the trial secretary on the appropriate move-up form by the owner of handler
one hour before the opening of the first trial on that day, schedule perm itting.
6.7.2 W hen one of more trials are held on the same day in the same venue, the request for moving the dog
up m ust be made a m inim um of one hour prior to the scheduled start of the trial for which the dog is being
m oved up to, schedule perm itting. The trial secretary shall amend the judge’s book and the m arked
catalogue, which is to be sent to the CKC with the requests attached to the appropriate entry form s.

ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS
Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating
currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however,
they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds, it m ust be m ade out for
the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not m ark

CHAM PIONS & CHAM PIONSHIP POINTS
SECTION 1: A dog awarded W INNERS at a cham pionship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall
be credited with a num ber of cham pionship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determ ination of the
num ber of cham pionship points to be credited to a dog awarded W INNERS shall be as provided
hereunder.
SECTION 2: The schedule to be em ployed in the determ ination of the num ber of points to be allocated
a dog awarded W INNERS shall be as follows:

To determ ine the num bers of cham pionship points earned by a dog awarded W INNERS total all the
dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following
official breed awards: W inners, Best of W inners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then
consult the schedule set forth above. The new system provides for additional points (provided that
the dog has defeated another as listed hereunder:

A class dog awarded Best In Show at an all-breed cham pionship show will be credited with five points
inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In no case m ay a dog earn m ore than five
points at any single show.
ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS
To obtain an ERN sim ply do the following:
- Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting current ownership - with a written
request for an ERN.
- Include full payment in the amount of $57.60 plus tax. Accounts may be paid with personal or
business cheque, money order, Visa or Mastercard. For Non-Members please note that if paying
by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Non-residents of Canada please note that discounted
cheques or money orders will not be accepted due to fluctuating currency rates.
- Provide us with your full return address.
- Faxed requests will be accepted. Please include your VISA/MasterCard number, expiry date,
cardholder's name and signature.
- An ERN must be obtained within 30 day of obtaining points, awards or scores to avoid cancellation.
If factors beyond your control prohibits this or presents a problem, please send a written request
for a 30 day extension.

Judging Procedure (Sweepstake)
Judging of the sweepstake will com m ence at approxim ately 12:00 noon. However if necessary a later starting
tim e may be announced for any one or more of the rings. W ithin each group, puppies will be judged in order
of age class, sexes combined:
Junior Puppies (6 - 9 months); Senior Puppies (9-12 m onths); Open Puppies (12-18 m onths)
Rules and Awards (Sweepstake)
All puppies between the age of 6 and 18 months on the day of the sweepstake are eligible to com pete,
regardless of place of birth. A ll puppies entered in the sweepstake must be entered in one of the official regular
classes of the all breed show that day. Money rece ived as entry fee for the sweepstake will be pooled and
divided as follows:
1 in each class-25% of the entry fees received for that class.st
2 in each class-20% of the entry fees received for that class.nd
3 in each class-15% of the entry fees received for that class.rd
4 in each class-10% of the entry fees received for that class.th
Best in Sweepstake-Rosette and 10% of All Sweepstake entry fees.
The rem ainder of fees is to be retained by the Club to cover adm inistration cost.
CANCELLATION OF ENTRIES
Chapter 13, Section 10 of the Dog Show Rules States:
An exhibitor has the righ t to withdraw an entry. Notice of withdrawal must be in writing and received by the
Show Secretary on or before the official closing date as published in the prem ium list. W hen the prem ium list
indicates that entries will be lim ited, cancellation of entries will not be perm itted.
M OVING A DOG TO THE SPECIALS CLASS
Chapter 13, Section 13, of the dog show rules has been am ended to allow a dog which is “INDIVIDUALLY
REGISTERED AT TIME OF CLOSING” in the recorded of the Canadian Kennel Club, and has completed the
requirem ent of a Championship, after the closing date for entries for a show, may be transferred from one of
the regular classes to “Specials Only”, providing the request for transfer is subm itted to the Show Secretary in
W RITING at least ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE SHOW by the owner or handler.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. No entry will be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are filled in.
INCOMPLETE ENTRIES W ILL BE RETURNED. NO ENTRY W ILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS
ACCOMPANIES BY ENTRY FEES.
2. TELEPHONE ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED BY THE SHOW SECRETARY.
3. DIANA EDW ARDS SHOW SERVICES and the Kingston & District Kennel Club, reserves the
right to refuse any entry, subject to CKC Dog Show Rules.
4. Identification cards and judging schedule will be mailed as soon as possible after entries
close.
5. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have the dog in the ring when the dog’s class is
scheduled for judging.
6. Diana Edwards Show Services and the Show Committee will use due care and diligenence
for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability
in the event of an accident, or misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors or patrons.
7. Conflicts between Dog Show Rules and the New Breed Standards. The Board of Directors
of the CKC. Has ruled that where a conflict arises between the Breed Standards and the Dog
Show Rules, the Dog Show Rules will take precedence.
8. Exhib itors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom
the entry was made. Changes or cancellation of any entry after closing date is prohibited
with the exception of an error in an age specified class, date of birth, or sex and may be
amended on the entry form up to one hour before the start of the show.
9. If because of riots, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the management it
is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made.
10. To avoid noise and confusion there will be no individual dogs called to the ring by
loudspeaker. Delays waiting for dogs will not be possible and handlers with several breeds
must arrange for alternate handlers if judging times for their breeds conflict.
11. SHOW PRECINCTS area will be 30 feet from the Show Rings. All dogs regardless of age,
not entered in the show or trials, must not be brought closer than 30 feet of the rings.
12. W e will have someone doing clean-up, but remember they cannot be everywhere at once.
Your co-operation in informing a ring steward or show official as to the whereabouts of the
mess will be greatly appreciated. W e will clean it! Thank you.
13. No provisions will be made in the event of inclement weather.

Prize Money Breakdown
The Six Finalists will each be awarded 10% . Best in Sweepstakes will receive an additional 15 %. Best of
Opposite Sex will receive an additional 5 % . 20 % will be held back for adm inistration purposes. In addition a
Rosette will be given to all S ix Finalists. Flat Ribbons to all other placem ents.

rosette recognizing the Breeder of Purebred dogs. Agreen rosette will be awarded to the breeder of the dogs
awarded BEST OF BREED and BEST PUPPY IN BREED. OBEDIENCE/RALLY AW ARD - CSPCC is pleased
to offer a trophy & Rosette to the Chinese Shar-Pei achieving the highest qualifying score in Obedience and
rally for the weekend in the K ingston & District Kennel Club all breed obedience trials & rally trials.
SPECIALTY JUNIOR HANDLING - Friday June 17th
Prizes and rosettes for all 1st place entries and best overall jr handling and ribbons for all entries
