Secretary’s Message

Friends,

The 65th Annual Conference of the Neurological Society of India is just around

the corner in Chennai. I am sure that you have all firmed up your plans for a visit

to this charming city – which along with Vellore – is really the cradle of

neurosurgery in India. Dr VG Ramesh and Dr Sridhar along with their team are

working very hard to put up a scintillating conference. A galaxy of eminent

speakers, a vibrant social program and plenty of interaction and camaraderie

over finger licking cuisine would leave everyone satisfied.

A trip to Chennai always evokes memories of the legendary BRM. It is therefore in the fitness of

things that the Society of British Neurological Surgeons – our friendship partner Society for the

Chennai meet – has decided to confer their highest honour – the SBNS Medal on Prof Ramamurthi

posthumously. This will be done during the Inaugural Ceremony on the 15th of December. A

strong contingent from SBNS along with colleagues from CNS and the neighbouring SAARC

countries would be attending the meeting.

So lets pack our bags and head for Chennai. See you all there!

Dr VP SinghSecretary, Neurological Society of India

Officers of Regional Neuroclubs / Societies

The Executive Committee of NSI requests all regional neuro clubs/societies to register with the NSI

as being representative of neuroscientists of that region. This registration will become mandatory

to be recognized as bona fide representative club/society of that region when bidding for the

Annual Conference of NSI. If more than one regional club/society claims representative status then

a list of members who are also NSI members with their NSI membership number and signatures will

have to be appended with the registration form. Registration form is available on the NSI website

(www.neurosocietyindia.org) in the Download forms section.
