BIOGRAPHY

Marcos Cruz’s career has developed in parallel with the history of un‐derground electronic music in Spain. Indeed, he has been of its most influential creators over the last ten years. He is part of the foundatio‐nal core of House music in the Southern region of Andalusia since his early attempts with turntables and mixing consoles, back in 1993.  During his early sessions as a DJ at clubs in his hometown Seville, he was quite influenced by the old school of House, playing Deep House, Acid House, underground rhythms and Detroit Techno. Throughout his extensive career as a DJ and producer he has attained to combine the best sounds of underground House, Tech and Deep House, being quite influenced by European and American schools, and with an utterly ener‐getic style in cabin that radiates sensuality.  Marcos Cruz remembers the first time he listened to Danny Tenaglia as a milestone in his musical development, at Space Ibiza terrace circa 1998. Along the years, his peculiar sound has drawn the attention of big artists such as Deep Dish, Dubfire, Behrouz, Steve Lawler, Marco Carola, Hernán Cattaneo, Luciano, Radio Slave, Michel Cleis, Tiësto, Víctor Cal‐derone, Chus & Ceballos...   His career took a crucial turn in 2004, with his first worldwide hit: “I love you” (SerialKiller Vinyl). Deep Dish opened their performances with this track, including on Creamfields that year. Shortly afte,r “Love Rota‐tion” was preselected in 2004 for Dubfire's Global Underground 031: Taipei compilation. Ever since, he hasn’t stopped working as DJ, produ‐cer and mixer of the greatest international artists.  In 2007 he started his own label, Desertica Records, which has grown to become an icon of the Tech and Deep House sounds made in Spain. At the same time, his career experienced a dazzling global explosion, with tours that have led him to numerous places, from the Winter Music Conference in Miami (WMC)  to Eastern Europe, Asia or North Africa. He has kept up that international prestige ever since.  Nowadays, Marcos Cruz is in a exuberant state of maturity, both in personal and musical sides. He still owns an amazing bond with the crowd and his sessions are full of harmony, joy and connection with the audience. His style in booth reflects his strong faith and spiritual com‐mitment. He conceives music as an instrument to inquire into our own identity and convey love.

SUMMER SEASON 2015 ∙ Based in the resort town of Estepona (South Spain) during the summer months in order to meet his summer schedule, in September 2015 Marcos Cruz has finished an packed summer season with about 40 performances over four months.  RESIDENCE AT PUROBEACH MARBELLA ∙ Purobeach Marbella, one of the swankiest beach clubs of the Southern Spain, has been the musical home to Marcos Cruz during spring and summer 2015, with weekly performances.  UPCOMING PRODUCTIONS ∙ Over the next months, Marcos Cruz's recent studio work will be unveiled. As a preview, it's already a known fact that his upcoming tracks will be  pushlished by Wally Lopez's record label  Factomania, Moonshake and Desertica Records.  INTERNATIONAL TOUR ∙ Rome (November 2015), Bulgaria (December 2015), Portugal (January 2016) and Mexico (January 2016) are some of the destinations of Marcos Cruz’s  international tour over the next months.  COLLABORATIONS ∙ Marcos Cruz is very focused on his evolution not so much as an electronic music producer, but as an 360º musician, developing his vocal talent,  playing instruments and constructiong better music as a whole. For that purpose, he is working on new collaborations with Indie/Rock and Worship bands, as he develops his inclination for new musical trends in spiritual worship.
