If lawful or not provable, DDA writes an analysis of facts and law. Analysis is a public record.

DDA analyzes investigative materials. JSID may conduct additional investigation. DDA evaluates legality of o�cer-involved shooting.

If unlawful beyond a reasonable doubt, then criminal case is �led.

DDA who responds to scene reviews investigative materials.

Investigative agency conducts criminal investigation and submits investigative materials to JSID.

At scene DDA and DAI receive:1) Initial brie�ng of facts.2) Walk-through of scene.3) Participate in witness interviews (independently recorded).

DAI attends autopsy.

JSID Deputy District Attorney (DDA) and District Attorney Investigator (DAI) immediately respond to scene.

Involved police departmentimmediately noti�es the District Attorney’s Justice System Integrity Division (JSID).

O�cer-involved shooting occurs.
