INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT

The Income Tax Department, North Eastern Region is pleased to invite applications from

eligible advocates for empanelment as Special Public Prosecutors to represent the Income Tax Department before Courts of Session or its subordinate courts at (i) Guwahati, (ii) Bongaigaon, (iii) Tezpur, (iv) Jorhat, (v) Dibrugarh, (vi) Silchar, (vii) Shillong, (viii) Dimapur, (ix) Imphal & (x)

Agartala.

Qualifications & experience - Enrolment in State Bar Association and practice of 7 years in

criminal matters (mandatory), experience of handling trials relating to Direct Tax Laws

(desirable ).

Period of engagement - 18 months (renewable with performance appraisal after 12 months) . Termination - By w ritten communication from either side w ithout assigning any reason.

Remuneration (approved by the Ministry of Law & Justice, subject to conditions) - Rs.2000/­per day per case for effective hearing, Rs.500/-per case per day for non-effective hearing,

Rs.2000/ - for drafting complaint, Rs.lOOO/- per case for drafting replies/revisions/WS/affidavits, Rs.750/ - conference fees, plus 10% derkage. Out of pocket expenses and outstation fees are

also payable.
