The swap meet in Lincoln, sponsored by the Old Car Council. Thanks to Craig Pandil, Jerry Koraleski, Howard Renshaw, Pete Fagan and Ray Kennedy for assisting me at 2am. Not only did they lose a much needed hour of sleep, but they helped earn our Club enough money to pay our dues in the organization and the ad in the Old Car Council booklet. Thank you all for attending. The World of Wheels is in the books. Thanks to Dave Ferguson and and to all of our members who cleaned their cars to be entered. The Saint Patricks’ Day Parade was a bust We’re off to a roaring start to 2020. Keep an eye on the calendar, Ron Hughbanks puts updates on most every day. Keep in mind we will take nominations again at the April {if we have a meeting,} for Governor, Social Director, Secretary and member at large. Then in May, you will have the opportunity to vote for those board members. Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone who volunteered to elected to position on the board of directors. Your new members of the board are working together as a team to insure that your experiences as members in the Cornhusker Corvette Club are the best they can be. Lots of new activities are planned and Summer Festival will be awesome. I’m proud to be your president again and equally proud of the work your newly elected board members are doing. Come out and enjoy as many activities as you can. We certainly have Something for Everyone. Keep an eye out for our newest supporters. Including The good life bar and grill. Kudos Ray Zimmerman. General Meeting MinutesFebruary 20, 2020

CCC General Meeting

Gene Gau, Club President:Gene brought the meeting to order at 7:00pm. The meeting began with the club reciting thePledge of Allegiance.

A moment of silence was observed for others.

The NCCC Convention promotion for “Roar into Omaha” hosted by the Cornhusker CorvetteClub, was presented to the group.

Resignations have been provided to the Board of Directors:Brenda Salmans – SecretaryJerry Koraleski – Member at Large

According to the by laws there will be nominations at this meeting and the April meeting.The ballots will be distributed during the May meeting to vote for the empty positions.

Jerry Koraleski – The Board of Directors has appointed him interim Governor.

Brenda Salmans – The Board of Directors has appointed her interim Social Director.

Lauren Killam – The Board of Directors has appointed her interim Secretary.

Nominations for Member at Large were presented – Ray Kennedy and Bill Anderson.

Nominations for Governor were presented – Gary Brisbois.

There were no additional nominations tonight for Secretary or Social Director.There will be another opportunity to nominate someone for the positions during April’smeeting.

The West Region banquet has been canceled. In lieu of refunding individuals for their paymentsfor the banquet, the money will be donated to the West Region Scholarship Fund. JerryKoraleski and Gene Gau will take the money to the Governors’ meeting in St Louis thisweekend.

Cornhusker Corvette Club BanquetThere is still time to sign up for to be held on March 21 st at the Field Club. Kathy Gau andRay Kennedy will take the sign up sheets and money.

Dr. Sean Preston, CEO of the National Corvette Museum will be the special guest speaker.The West Region awards will also be awarded to club members during the banquet.Door prizes will also be awarded during the banquet, everyone will receive a ticket.

Friday, March 20 th , Dr. Sean Preston will attend the meet & greet at Quaker Stake & Lube in

Council Bluffs. Let’s make it a great turnout.

Kelli Brown donated a generator to the Cornhusker Corvette Club.

Gene recognized two NCCC officers; Kathy Brisbois – NCCC Parliamentarian, and GaryBrisbois – West Region RCD.

Gene Gau will be hosting a cone cleaning seminar at his house April 11 st at 9:00am.

Pete Fagan, Vice President report:$800 was raised for the brick honoring Jonathan Brown will be a wonderful addition to theNational Corvette Museum. Jonathan performed many duties behind the scenes for the clubwhich were invaluable for the club.Timing: We have been testing and the equipment for the past several weeks practicing andgetting the bugs worked out. We will be upgrading the software each year at $189 per year.Walter Killam was able to upgrade the operating system to Windows 10, at no cost. Ray Kennedy ➢formed the Patriot Race Team years ago and is now growing beyond theCornhusker Corvette Club, they are family. Ron Hernandez, last year’s award recipient, sharedideals that the team possess and all the time and effort an award member has given to the cluband others. The love of the car sparks relationships with others. Everyone dedicates time andeffort for the club. The Patriot Race Team chose the recipient before Jonathan Brown passedaway. The Patriot Race Team Award presented the award for 2019 to Jonathan Brown, KelliBrown accepting the award.

JB Benedict, Points Chair report:We were second in the nation for 2019 in Club points. Indiana Corvette Enthusiasts (ICE)attended twice the number events with over 40,000 points which is why they took first place.We have the ability to take top honors this year with at least 25,000 to 30,000 points.So far there have been two events logged for the club. The Catfish Lake Restaurant Meet &Greet have not been added to the points list. Tonight’s meeting and the Melodrama points willbe added to this month’s totals. **Chairs** - make sure to provide JB the list of attendees.Thank you for providing newspapers for the puppies. Please make sure to remove the coloredads as these, when wet, can harm the animals.

Lauren Killam, Secretary Report:Requested the meeting attendees to approve the minutes for the January meeting. Dave Williamsmotioned and Gene Gau seconded. All stated “Yay”, the minutes were approved.

Sharon Renshaw, Treasure Report:Quick books contains 2018 and 2019 finances. Sharon and Chris spent many hours reconcilingthe numbers to prepare for the CPA. We are looking at three different possible CPAs to prepareour taxes for 2019.January 31 st was the end of the fiscal year, and the taxes will be due June 15, 2020.Sharon provided a zippered pouch for each chair to gather receipts and monies. These are to beturned into Sharon for reconciliation.We are able to take credit card payments using our PayPal account that Walter and LaurenKillam set up for the club.

The Cornhusker Corvette Club has a credit card to pay for items when more convenient thanreimbursement. Please provide Sharon any requests that can be purchased using the credit card.

The beginning balance for January 1, 2020 was $37,236.34. There is one outstanding check for$2500 that has not yet been processed through our bank. The balance as of February 16, 2020 is$28611.23. Karen Williams, Membership report:Currently, there are 302 members.There are guests tonight and potential new club members.We get the word out through face book, the website and our events.

Jerry Koraleski, Governor report:We have applied for the rest of the sanctions for events.◦ May 16 th will be the driving school for new drivers◦ June 14 th will be the Peers Auto ShowDuring this month’s Governor meeting, the sanctioned schedule should be complete.High Speed License – If you request a license, please contact Jerry Koraleski who will providethe information to Gary Brisbois, the region’s RCD. Any member that currently has a highspeed license can be confirmed through Karen Williams, JB Benedict, or download from theNational Council Corvette Club’s website. NCCC no longer provides a hard copy. It willindicate High Speed and the expiration date.

Question: Do we need to provide a copy of our license to RPM and/or other High Speedfacilities? Yes. Please make sure you have a copy of the High Speed License when you attend ahigh speed event.

Brenda Salmans, Social Director report:Melodrama Event- The Sokol Auditorium is hosting the event. They need a few morevolunteers to hand out popcorn and beer. Please wear dark pants and either the white club shirtor another type of white shirt to stand out as servers. Jerry and Kathy Koraleski are chairs forthis event. There will be social points awarded to club members who volunteer. There will be a

pot luck dinner afterwards. Additionally, they need additional volunteers this weekend,February 22 and 23 as they do not have enough to cover their event. Please let Kathy Koraleskiknow if you can assist.

St Patrick’s parade - Saturday March 14 th, downtown Omaha. We will meet 8:00 am at the TwinCreek Village Inn location in Bellevue. We will leave from there to downtown Omaha.Afterwards there will be a lunch at Roma’s in Bellevue.Perry – Between 1-5pm there is a fundraiser at Kuck Motorsport Museum in Lancaster County.The cost is $20 for attendance to view the phenomenal collection. There are carpoolingopportunities. Please see Perry Dawes for more information.Quaker State & Lube – March 20 th in Council Bluffs, IA. Carol DeBuse is chairing the event.Dr. Sean Preston will also be attending the Meet & Greet.CCC Banquet – March 21 st at the Field Club in Omaha. Please contact Ray Kennedy or KathyGau for sign up.

Bunny Hop – April 1 st 5-8pm, Nancy will be chairing an event at Quaker State & Lube,including a costumed pet show. $10 will provide the opportunity to dress up your pet andparade. Ragazzi’s – April 21 st 5-8 pm. Perry Dawes is chairing the event. This will be a Meet & ➢Greet as well as a Car Show.

Mid America Pinewood Derby – May 9 nd – Valve Cover and Car show benefiting the BoyScouts of America. Please contact Perry Dawes for more information.The Good Life in Elkhorn – May 30 th , 11am- 2pm, Car Show. Ray Zimmerman is chairing theevent.

Millard Days – August 25-30 in Andersen Park. More details are on the Calendar Website andas we get closer.

There are other events in the works.

The club is looking for additional members to join the Committee.

Ray Zimmerman, Public Relations report:We are changing the wording of our contributors to Activity Supporters. This is a more flexiblelabel instead of appearing to “just” hand over money.We welcome the Good Life, all locations, to our Supporter list.Last year we lost the support of Harchelroad Motors, but they have rejoined this year.Please use our club’s business card any time you visit one of our Supporters to let them knowthat we appreciate their support. These are available on the back table on meeting nights.Ray continues to solicit additional Supporters.Please where your name badge to meetings and your name could be drawn from the bucket fora free dinner the following meeting. This month the winner is Lois Waterman. Congratulations!

Don Angeroth, Competition Director report:Driving School – May 16 th at Southeast Community College (SECC)The school will run from 9-11am. There will be available more experienced drivers to ridealong with the student. Students will need to wear closed toe shoes, long pants and a helmet.If you do not have a helmet, the club has a couple to use.During the April general meeting, Don will hand out a homework booklet and a sign up sheet.The autocross events will begin at 12 noon. During the school, cars will be tech’d. The

course will have a change from the school to abide NCCC rules. Passengers are allowedduring the events and the same clothing equipment as the driver is required.We will need course setup volunteers beginning at 8am. We will need corner workers forboth the school and the autocross events.

Dave Williams, Summer Festival Director report:Dave and Randy Williams continue to work our contracts with RPM for track time for Summer Festival.Saturday, September 5 th – Low Speed – we need a chairman for this eventSunday, September 6 th – High Speed – Jerry Koraleski is the chairMonday, September 7 th – Car Show at Madonna – Gene Gau is chair. Then about 1pm, arally to RPM for Drag Racing – Ron Bockerman is the chair.Dave and Randy continue to look for a venue for Friday, September 4 th Meet & Greet andTech for cars.There will be a “Fun Friday” high speed event at RPM 2pm until dusk. The specific Fridaywill be determined. The cost is $50 per car and $20 for a passenger for our club.Convertibles can drive the track. There will be multiple cars on the track but they will bespread across the track unless you catch up to another driver.Perry Dawes, Valve Cover Racing:If you are interested in building a valve cover racer, Perry has the specifics and you candownload instructions. The first models used hard drive disks for wheels, unable to purchaseanymore. The next generation used plastic wheels which did not work as well. The currentgeneration uses in-line skate wheels which perform well. The parts can be bought on Amazon.Perry has a brochure detailing the build process and materials.Saturday, May 9 nd – Mid-America Pinewood Derby. The derby raises money for the Boy Scoutsof America. Along with the expected cars, valve cover racers will be part of the event as well.Dave Ferguson, World of Wheels Event:Bob Speckmann and Dave are putting on World of Wheels on own instead of a CornhuskerCorvette Club. This will be a pep rally for the club and chat with viewers about the club. Theywill bring their own displays and promote the club at the CHI Health Center, Saturday March14 th and 15 th . If anyone wishes to volunteer to set up on Friday or tear down on Sunday, pleasecontact them.
