Subject Thematic Cleanliness drives in Government Offices and Buildingsfrom 1st to 15th March, 2016.

Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India is conducting aseries of fortnightly thematic drives across cities, targeting a particular area ofsection. For the fortnight (1st to rs" March, 2016), the focus of the thematicdrive will be on cleanliness drive in Government offices and buildings. Ministryof Urban Development has accordingly requested that all the field units andaffiliated departments may be advised to undertake cleanliness drive in theiroffice building during the fortnight to make the drive a success. A copy ofMinistry of MSME OM dated 1.3.2016 is enclosed in this context.

2. In view of the above, it is requested that the above cleanliness drivemay be accordingly carried out during 1st to is" March, 2016. The plan ofaction proposed to be taken during the above period may be submitted to thisoffice immediately. Action Taken Report on the cleanliness drive may also befurnished to this office by 16.3.2016 ~t1

The undersigned is directed to forward herewith a copy of 0.0.! Letter No. SB/SBM/26/2016 dated 25th February, 2016 received from Sh.Praveen Prakash, Joint Secretary & Mission Director (SBM), Mlo UrbanDevelopment, wherein he has stated that his Ministry is conducting a seriesof fortnightly "thematic drives across cities, targeting a particular area or

As you are aware, the Swachh Bharat Mission, in order to become atnle 'jan andolan' requires concerted efforts Frorn every stakeholder in thecountry to make our collective dream of a "Swachh Bharat" a reality. In aneffort to reach out to different stakeholders, the inistry of UrbanDevelopment (MoUD) has been conducting a series of fortnightly "thematic"drives across cities, targeting a particular area or sector.

For the upcoming fortnight (lst - 15th March 2016), the focus of thethematic drive will be on cleanliness dr ives in Government Offices andBuildings. In this regard, I request you to kindly advise all your states andcity units and affiliated departments to undertake cleanliness drives in theiroffice buildings during this fortnight and make this drive a success.

We are also requesting CPWD to undertake an assessment of allgovernment offices and buildings from 16th March'16, on the parametersprovided in Annexure 1.
