Welcome to MCC’s Northern Tier
Center - as we transition from the spring semester to summer semester, I hope you take some time to talk to your classmates, instructors and the NTC staff. I am the Site Manager for NTC in Clio and have almost 20 years helping students at the college level. Please feel free to stop by my office if you need anything or have something to share. Networking and creating new personal avenues is a skill that an
benefit you throughout your life. Do not be afraid to meet people and create a personal connection that may help both you and your new friend in the future. Success, regardless of the definition you have, usually is made by your desire and the people in make connections with in your life. According to Charles Haanel, “The first law of success is service! We get what we give, and this reason we should consider it a great privilege to give.” Be generous with your time and others will be generous to you.
I hope each of you have rewarding experiences at MCC and the Northern Tier Center. Thank you for making MCC a real community college.
Thomas Saelens, Site Manager & The MCC Northern Tier Staff

In the event of an emergency at Mott Community College, you can receive a text message and/or a voice mail alert! If you would like to receive a text when the campus closes, sign up for this system which takes just a few clicks!
On the home page of www.mcc.edu, click on WebAdvisor.
Students login with their student identification numbers.
Faculty and staff login with their Datatel ID numbers.
Continue to the Emergency Notification link.
Submit your contact information.
Please call the Help desk at (810) 762-4357 with questions or problems signing up. The system is tested on the second Tuesday of each semester. NOTE: MCC is not responsible for cost incurred from cell phone carriers. The system is designed to enhance campus wide communication in the event of an emergency. Adding a layer of communication and information gives you an edge to becoming an advocate of your own personal safety. Up-to-date closing information is available from the following sources:
Emergency Notification System - In the event of any on-campus emergency a voice or SMS (text mes-
sage) will be sent. All MCC Student, Faculty and Staff are encouraged to sign-up for this notification.

Please do not call the Department of Public Safety with questions about school closings. This will help keep the dispatchers’ lines available to handle emergency conditions and notifications that are required during an unsafe weather condition.
If MCC is CLOSED: This will be reported on all above noted sources.
If MCC remains OPEN: No Public announcements are made and all scheduled classes are expected to meet as planned.
