tain children’s clothing in time for the local youth to go back
to school!
Additionally, we are looking for people to donate themed
baskets for the event. Several people have already pledged to
make baskets but we are still looking for many more. Please
call or email the parish office if you are
interested in creating a basket for this year's picnic. We can
help supply you with ideas, if needed. For those donating to
the raffle, please return completed baskets to the parish

Cheshire Garden Club The Cheshire Garden Club is welcoming new
members! If you enjoy gardening, swapping plants, and
making new friends, come join the Garden Club! Offerings
include: monthly meetings, guest speakers, planting and
caring for the flowers at the Community Center and
Town Hall, floral crafting, garden tours, day trips, and
plant swaps. If you are interested, please call Lois at
413-776-7194 or Autumn at 413-743-9263.
Altar Server & Lector Training Under the leadership of Steve Berti and Jack Driscoll, four
children and one adult have just been trained as Altar
Servers! These servers will be shadowing over the summer
and will be officially installed at the Family Mass to be held
on Sunday, September 22nd! Any additional students who
are interested in being trained may contact the parish office.
On Sunday, July 14th, Bob Balawender ran a training session
and refresher course for new and current Lectors. The
session was well attended and we are happy to have the
Lectors begin helping with Mass preparation in addition to
their reading. If you are interested in becoming a Lector, or
still need the refresher, please contact the parish office.
Precious Blood As many have noticed, we have not been distributing the
Precious Blood at Masses. The change was made effective
July 1st to coincide with the new scheduling for priest
coverage. There are now two Extraordinary Ministers
scheduled for each Mass, one to distribute hosts to the
chapel and choir and the other to distribute alongside the
priest. The gluten free chalice is still available to those who
cannot receive the host.
St. John Paull II Parish in Adams will hold their
“Cadillac” of Tag Sales for two days, Friday, August
9th from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 10th
from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the lower hall of the Notre
Dame School. Their annual book sale will be held on the
1st floor in conjunction with the event.
This past weekend, we enjoyed having Fr. Joseph Ibiwoye
celebrate Mass with us. His passion for our faith was
contagious and the stories of his work in Kenya were
inspirational. Fr. Joseph thoroughly enjoyed his short stay at
our parish, the hospitality of our people, and the
spaciousness of his guest room. Together, we raised $687.00
for the Missionary Society of St. Paul which Fr. Joseph was
here on behalf of. There is still time to contribute to the
Mission Co-Op program, so please consider making a
donation. Checks may be made payable to St. Mary’s
with Mission Co-Op in the memo line. Thank you!!!
Cruz Nite & Fireworks The Cheshire Fire Department will host their annual
Cruz Nite & Fireworks on Saturday, August 10th. The
event will be held behind Cheshire Elementary School
starting at 4:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at nightfall. Enjoy
an evening of music, cars, food, raffles, and more! All
proceeds support the fireworks display and the department.
