Dear Members,
Do you like our new menu? Have you met Chef Brandon?
The feedback I have received regarding the new menu generally, and Friday night dinners in particular, have beenvery, very positive. If you haven’t dined at the Club recently, please make it a point to enjoy lunch or dinner withus. Not only will you enjoy a fine meal and fellowship with friends, but your regular support also is essential tomaintaining a high quality dining experience.
Chef Brandon joined us last May, and he complements an already solid staff led by Chef Benny, whose friedchicken is the best anywhere. New entrée specials, intriguing appetizers, and delectable desserts tempt us eachweek. Chef Brandon has a flair for presentation, and the meals are delicious. I recommend you pair a good winewith your meal for a pleasing evening at your Columbia Country Club.
We know you have many choices for your entertainment dollar. Please plan to spend at least one Wednesday orFriday evening a month with us, along with a lunch or two along the way. You will see old friends, meet newfriends, and enjoy a full service country club experience. Thank you for your support! Bon appetit!

October has blessed us with amazing weather. I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the outdoors this past month.Looking ahead November promises to be a busy month. Please check the calendar for events at the club.
Now is a good time to remind everyone about some basic club rules that will ensure the total enjoyment of CCC byeveryone. First, there are no five-somes at CCC unless authorized by the golf shop. Second, there should be no more thantwo golf carts per group. And third, practicing on the golf course is prohibited. If everyone will abide by these simple rules itwill make CCC a more enjoyable place to play.
When daylight savings time ends on November 6th please note the change in hours of operation for the golf shop anddriving range. The golf shop and driving range will close at 5:00pm. This allows us to pick the driving range before dark. Please be through hitting balls by 5:00pm. The golf staff thanks you in advance for you cooperation.
The next big events will be the One-Day Member Guest, Turkey Scramble, Golf Shop Open House and the SportsCommittee Fundraiser. As you can see November will be an extremely busy month at the club. The golf staff looks forwardto seeing you at the club!
General Manager / PGA Golf Professional
As November approaches, the trees have begun to drop their leaves and the turf has slowed its growth. Typically, wedo not receive a heavy frost until closer to Thanksgiving, which should allow us to retain our turf color for a few moreweeks. Last month we applied our preventative fungicide applications to the greens and collars to control Spring Dead Spot.We also overseeded the Driving Range Tee, Short Game Tee and Chipping area with Perennial Ryegrass. Over the comingweeks we will begin mowing and returning these areas to normal playing conditions. In November, we will begin a cart path project from #27 green around the chipping green. The new concrete path willbe re-routed through the trees closer to #19 tee and the existing path will be removed, soil added and sod installed to addadditional practice area around the chipping green. This will be a great improvement thanks to donations made to the“Special Projects List.” I would like to remind everyone to modify their walking and cart traffic patterns during the winter months. Cold andwet winter conditions plus repetitive traffic patterns cause damage to the turf and will slow its springtime recovery.
Thanks for your cooperation and support!

YEAR END SWEEPSBALANCES
In an effort to clean up the books and provide accurateaccounting information all sweeps balances will be broughtto zero December 31, 2016. Please spend your sweeps prior
to December 31st, 2016 to avoid losing them altogether.
Hi Everyone!
Yet another month has flown by, they truly do seem to be passing quicker these days, is that a sign I am getting old?! After'Matthew' blew through SC, here in Columbia we have had beautiful golf weather with no rain, bright days meaning chillymornings, and no humidity. I know I have enjoyed walking our courses and watching the colour change on the trees, andhearing the birds singing, CCC truly is a fantastic course.
November is the month for giving Thanks. I know this time of the year is always busy with Thanksgiving and then veryquickly Christmas, but can I remind you all of our Charity for the year, Children's Chance. We need your donations please,so the LGA can buy gifts for our chosen family to make their Christmas just a little bit easier. A child in our family will beor has recently been undergoing cancer treatment . Your donations can be dropped off in the ladies locker room in our'black box'. Thank you in advance.
I hope you all have a great time with your family at Thanksgiving, and look forward to seeing you at the club or on thecourse.
Take care
LGA President
Much like any other business, our club partners with vendors and suppliers that are constantly providing goodsand services. Prompt payment of invoices for those goods and services ensures that the club can provide the
goods and services our members want, such as maintaining the golf course, running the air conditioning in ourclubhouse, and making sure the 19th hole is well stocked.
Operating on a cash flow basis as we do, we depend on your prompt payment of monthly accounts invoicesto be able to maintain a good relationship with our vendors and suppliers. Recently, however, we have noticed an
increase in both the number of past due member accounts as well as the dollar amount of those accounts. For example, a recent review found that 10% of our member accounts were past due. This places a strain on
the club’s ability to promptly pay our obligations.
Currently, member accounts are considered past due on the 20th of each month. Based on arecommendation of the Finance Committee, the Board of Directors has voted to move that date forward 5
days so that accounts are now considered past due on the 15th of each month, beginning with the November2016 bill. However, we strongly encourage members to pay the monthly bill upon receipt, and not wait until the
15th. In addition, please be aware of the payment box right outside the club’s office. Rather than giving apayment to a club employee in the pro shop, or elsewhere, we ask that you use the payment box if paying your
bill in person. If you have any questions about our payment policies or procedures, please contactHeather, Samantha, or Chris in the club’s office.
