Office 365 Yammer User Guide Important Note: You should have already been notified by your end user admin of your Office 365 username and password. You will need these credentials in order to log into the Office 365 portal. If you haven’t received this information please contact your local administrator before attempting to complete the following steps. Steps to get started Step 1 – Logging In 1. Upon logging in you should see your organisation’s news feed on the home screen. 2. Click your name located above the left hand navigation pane. 3. Click the ‘Edit Profile’ button 4. Complete the relevant sections to tell everyone a little bit more about you and don’t forget to upload a photo! Step 3 – Post a message 1. Select the type of post you want to publish using the options on the top ribbon. Update: a general text based update Poll: Create a survey Praise: Celebrate someone’s success 2. Office 365 Yammer User Guide Important Note: You should have already been notified by your end user admin of your Office 365 username and password. You will need these credentials in order to log into the Office 365 portal. Steps to get started Step 1 – Logging In

1. Browse to: https://portal.office.com

2. Login using the username and password

3. Click Sign in

4. Click ‘Yammer’ on the top navigation pane:

Step 2 – Complete you profile 1. Upon logging in you should see your organisation’s news feed on the home screen.

Step 3 – Post a message

1. Select the type of post you want to publish using the options on the top ribbon.

Step 4 – Edit your email notification settings To change the email notifications, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your Yammer account. In the upper-right corner of the screen, click the ellipsis (…), and then click Settings.

2. Select Notifications from the left navigation pane.

3. In the Send me a digest of message activity drop-down list, select Never, Daily, or Weekly. This sets the frequency at which you'll receive a digest email message that summarises the recent activity in your network.

4. Under the Email me when... section header, clear the check box next to each update type that you don't want to be notified about.

5. Under the There is new activity in the following Groups section header, select the check box next to each group that you want to receive real-time email updates for. You can clear a selected check box to stop updates for that group.

6. Click Save at the bottom to put all the changes that you've made into effect.

Step 5 – Get Yammer for desktop

1. Select ‘Get Yammer for desktop’ from the Getting Started box on the right hand side

2. Click the ‘Get Yammer for desktop’ 3. Click the ‘Download the Yammer Notifier’ from the pop up box.

4. Select ‘Save File’ when prompted 5. Launch the ‘Setup’ application when the download is complete. 6. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

7. The application will launch once the installation is complete. Sign in using your Office 365 username and password.

8. Load the Yammer Desktop notifier from the system tray by clicking the Yammer icon
