Dear Parish Family,
Thank you to everyone who participated in the celebration of our Patronal Feast Day of Mary Mother
of God and especially to those who offered many well wishes for my birthday on the same occasion.
Un-decorating the Church
If anyone is interested and would like to help un-decorate the church from the Christmas Season
please join us at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 13th.
Publication of Priests Accused of Abuse As I announced at the Masses last week Bishop Jugis and the Diocese of Charlotte have published a
comprehensive list of all priests who have been credibly accused since 1972. There were three priests
on the list who have served at St. Mary’s or WCU Campus Ministry and the last serving in the
1980’s. However, all of their accusations predated their assignments here in our area. I continue to
keep all persons affected by abuse in my prayers and ask all to do the same. If anyone knows of an
abuse and needs to report it please contact the authorities and or can contact me and I will contact the
authorities immediately along with the diocese. The diocese has an anonymous path for reporting
either on the diocesan website https://accountability.charlottediocese.org/report-abuse/ or at 1-888-
630-5929. Let us all pray for the healing of all affected and the healing of our Church here and
throughout the world.
Sincerely in Christ Jesus through Mary,
Fr. Casey Coleman
Pastor

Querida familia parroquial,
Pastor
