There will be two different types of auctions at our even – Silent and Live. An explanation and rules for each type of auction will be listed in this catalog at the beginning of each specific auction section.

All bidding at the auction will require a bid number. Your personal bid number is located on the back of this catalog. A bid number is required for all bidding and purchasing of items.

The Boys & Girls Club requires that all prizes be paid for in full at the auction. Payment may be made by Cash, Check, Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Card.

Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used within one year from May 18, 2019. Unless specified by the donor, all items are transferable from the winner to another person.

The “Silent” Auction will remain open for bidding from 5 to 7 pm ONLY.

Winning bids will be processed after the Live Auction and our volunteers will do everything possible to notify the winning bidders of their purchases in a timely manner.

Once the check-out area is open, winning bidders can proceed to the check-out area to pay for and to claim their prizes. All sales are final and no exchanges or refunds are possible, except in a case where there is a failure of performance either on the part of the Boys & Girls Club or the donor.

All items should be paid for and claimed on the day of the auction. You may, however, choose to pay for and claim your item(s) during the week following the auction at the Boys & Girls Club in order to avoid waiting in line. Delays in picking up your item(s) may, however, cause difficulty in resolving any disputes regarding your purchases.

The Silent Auction and Jewelry bidding will begin at 5 pm and conclude at 7 pm. There will be two separate closing times for the silent auction. Silent Auction Section #1 will close at 6:30pm and Silent Auction Section #2 will close at 7:00pm.

All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets attached or affixed nearby. Persons desiring to bid must do so by legibly writing their name and bid number next to the pre-printed amount of the bid on the bid sheet. Any bid without a bid number will be automatically disqualified. ONLY pre-printed bid amounts and pre-determined “Guaranteed Bid” amounts will be considered as valid bids.

Each new bid must be written on the uppermost blank line available on the bid sheet. The official closing will be at the time the bid sheet is actually removed from the table by a Boys & Girls Club official.

After the Silent Auction is closed, the bid sheets will be taken to the item verification table. At this time, validity of all bids will be verified (bid number, even dollar bids, minimum increases, etc.). The highest valid bid will be declared the winner and the decision of the official will be final.

The Live Auction will be held at the conclusion of dinner and will take approximately one hour. It will consist of the vocal auctioning of items in the order that they appear in this catalog and in the addendum.

All bidding at the auction will require a bid number. Your personal bid number is located on the back of your catalog. A bid number is required for all bidding, silent or live, and purchasing of items.

During the live auction, when you want to bid on an item, wave your hand as frantically as possible to attract the auctioneer’s or spotter’s attention. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. The auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion, the event of a dispute between bidders, to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the item in dispute.

At the signal from the auctioneer, and upon signing of the item sales slip, title to the item will pass to the highest bidder who then assumes full risk and responsibility and will pay the full purchase price at the end of the auction.

A “runner” will bring a sales slip directly to you, indicating the item you have purchased and the amount of your bid. You may wait until the end of the auction and pay for all of your purchases at one time at the cashier’s table.
