COVENTRY FESTIVAL OF RUNNING INFORMATION PACK
SUNDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2021
It’s finally time for the Coventry Festival of Running!
It’s been an extraordinary 18 months and there have been times when we didn’t think this day would be possible. However, with your support we look forward to creating lasting memories and raising desperately needed funds for some fantastic charities.
The lifting of restrictions has meant that we are able to deliver the event largely as originally planned although there will be some small modifications to help keep everyone safe and feeling comfortable. You can play your part by planning your day, being as self-sufficient as possible and most importantly by being mindful of the other runners and the army of volunteers giving up their time to support you. Thank you for entering and we hope you enjoy the day!

If you have received your race number in the post, please arrive in University Square race ready with your number attached to the front of your running top. There is no need to register.
If you have not received your race number in the post, please report to Customer Services in The Hub to pick one up.
There is a bag drop facility, but we would encourage you to hand belongings to your support if you can. If you do use the bag drop facility, please ensure that you put your belongings in a bag with your race number clearly visible.
ON ARRIVAL
The start assembly area will be on Gosford St. which is a two-minute walk from University Square. This area will open from 8.00am.
There will be a series of entry gates based on estimated times for the run with the fastest runners positioned towards the front.
Maintaining social distancing in the assembly area will be difficult but there is plenty of space at the rear of the assembly area if you prefer.
This year there will not be a mass warm up and the flow of runners across the start line will be controlled to ensure that runners have more space on the course.
Please bear in mind that your time does not start until you have crossed over the start line.
Toilets are available in University Square, in The Hub and in Starley Gardens on the way to the start.
START
HALF MARATHON:Toilets will be available at approximately 2.5 miles, 3.5 miles, 6.5 miles, 9.5 miles and 11.5 miles.
As part of our drive to eliminate single-use plastic, we encourage you to bring your own water but there will be three water stations at 2.5 miles, 6.5 miles and 11.5 miles. Sealed, bottled water (330ml) will be available should you need to supplement your own supply.
Please dispose of empty bottles in the bins provided if possible or drop them to the side of the road where they can be easily picked up.
Unfortunately there will be no ‘Pacers’
DURING THE RUN
5K:Toilets are available at the start and finish. Bottled water will be available at the finish.
FINISH:Please do not stop when you have crossed the finish line. Continue forward to pick up your medal, T-shirt, and bottle of water before dispersing into and away from University Square. Refreshments will be available outside The Hub and in The Courtyard. There are also plenty of cafes in the city centre that will be open when you have finished.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a post event massage service.
SUPPORT:Please bear in mind that the most crowded areas will be in University Square, the start, and the finish. There is plenty of opportunity to spectate away from these areas and maintain social distancing.
If you do bring support, please consider arranging to meet away from University Square when you have finished your run.
Epic Action Imagery and CUSU will be photographing the event, with images available to view online after the event. More information on filming and photography can be found here
Unfortunately there will be no prize presentation.
Results will be published on the event website within 24 hours of the event: https://www.enjoycoventry.com/festivalofrunning/.
If you provided a mobile number when you registered, you will also receive a text message with your official race time.
SUSTAINABILITY
We’re committed to making the Coventry Festival of Running a more sustainable event.
For this reason, the T-shirts and medals originally purchased for the 2020 event will be used.
We have also reduced the number of water stations by 50% and will be using electric vehicles provided by the Electric Fleet First Scheme – details of the scheme can be found here.
