APRIL 14 — Departure from Canada on overnight flight (international flights not included).

APRIL 15 — Casablanca. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel where your adventure begins today with a welcome meeting at 6pm. Join your group for an evening welcome dinner of traditional specialties. D

APRIL 16 — Meknes. After a local street breakfast in Casablanca we stop by the Hassan II Mosque before heading onto Meknes on the train. An orientation walk followed by lunch is a great introduction to Meknes. B L

APRIL 17 — Fes. This morning you will be taken to visit the nearby Roman city of Volubilis, which is filled with fantastic mosaics featuring legends like the labours of Hercules in fantastic detail. After a tour of this town, we will take you to the living museum of Fes. From here you will have free time for the rest of the day. B

APRIL 18 — Fes. Today head to the old city, known locally as Fes el Bali. Pass dye-pits, stalls loaded with fruits, herbs and spices. In the evening complete your experience with a hands-on cooking class, learning to create one of the city’s signature dishes – pastilla. B D

APRIL 19 — Train to Marrakech. Today, we will take you to Marrakech (approximately 7 hours). After a long day of travel, enjoy some Moroccan hospitality with home-cooked meal with a local family. B D

APRIL 20 — Marrakech. Commence your day learning to prepare sumptuous Moroccan salads, a staple of the table, at a cooking school that seeks empowerment for underprivileged women through cooking and literacy skills. Feast on your creations for lunch. The afternoon is free to explore the sights of the city. B L

APRIL 21 — Aroumd. Leave Marrakech behind for the High Atlas Mountains with an early departure. Arrive in Imlil and walk into traditional mountain village life with a gentle hike (approximately 1.5 hours, low gradient, 3kms) to your homestay. Facilities at the homestay are shared (both the bathroom and sleeping arrangements) but cozy. Tonight learn how to prepare Berber dishes, including the iconic tagine, before a shared dinner overlooking the rocky outcrop. B L D

APRIL 22 — Atlas Mountains to Essaouira. Lend a hand with breakfast and fill the table local delicacies then descend the mountain (approximately 1.5 hours). On the road to the coastal city of Essaouira (approximately 4.5 hours) stop at an Argan oil cooperative and a family-owned vineyard. Arrive in Essaouira by late afternoon. This evening is free for your own food adventures. B

APRIL 23 — Essaouira to Marrakech. On a guided walk give way to the cart-haulers calling ‘ballak, ballak’ in streets of art galleries and workshops, pass the harbour filled with colourful boats which go out early morning for the day’s catch. At the Fish Souk we’ll purchase the catch of the day and go off the tourist path to a local restaurant to have your purchase grilled for lunch. In the afternoon, drive back to Marrakech. Evening at leisure. B L

APRIL 24 — Return to Canada. Our Moroccan adventure comes to an end today. Transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight. B
