I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free. I’m following the path GOD has laid, you see.

I took His hand when I heard him call;

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day; to laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void, then fill

it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; Oh yes, these things I, too,, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full; I savored much;

Good friends, good times; a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee. GOD wanted me now; He set me free!

Loving Memories Obituary Meshack Tarver, affectionately known as “Dimple”, was born April 1, 1947 to the late Mr. John Sanders and Ms. Willie Mae Tarver in Hardaway (Macon County), Alabama. At an early age, Meshack accepted Christ as his Lord and Saviour and began his Christian journey at Lively Hope Baptist Church. Throughout his adult life, he continued to faithfully serve and worship his Master at several area churches including Nebraska Missionary Baptist, Wesley Chapel AME Zion and Saint James AME where Meshack was a devoted member until his health failed. He was educated at Prairie Farm School in Shorter, Alabama where he enjoyed sports and making friends. Upon completion of his studies, Meshack met and married the former Ms. Annie Powell and began a beautiful, loving family; the two were united for more than 20 years until his wife’s untimely demise in 2016. Dimple retired from the City of Montgomery, Sanitation Department after many years of dedicated service. In his spare time, Meshack enjoyed watching television—westerns and wrestling; loved the outdoors—fishing and hunting; auto repair and chatting with friends and family. On Sunday, August 11, 2019, our loved one answered his Master’s gentle call and peacefully entered eternal rest at East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC), Opelika, Alabama following an extended illness. In addition to his loving parents and beloved wife, Meshack was preceded in death by 22 brothers and sisters. What a glorious family reunion in heaven when all GOD’s children get together! Loving memories of Meshack “Dimple” Tarver will always and forever be cherished by: nine adoring children, Brenda Safford, Meshack (Nancy) Powell, Dempsey (Gloria) Powell, Shirley (Kale) Stinson, Tynisha (Freddie) Stinson, Lakea ( Jimmy) Powell, Quanta Vaughn, Pedro (Kim) Vaughn, and Crystal (Damian) Jones; 24 darling grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Wayne, Markale, Dajih, Quanesha, Nikki, Rosie, Qundravious, Aaliyah, Nathan, Fredrick, Quantez, Micah, DeAija, Makiya, Trell, Xaine, Raquan, Jadarian, Kasey, Katlain, Xavier, Destiny and Jayvon; seven caring sisters, Evelyn Williams, Willie Mae (Eugene) Boxley, Julia McAfee, Edwina (Larry) Lawrence, Moraline Washington, Shirley (Rodney) Hicks, and Tennie (Lee) McBride; seven dependable brothers, Zack (Glenda) Tarver, James Johnson, Noah ( Jackie) Johnson, Alto (Brenda) Tarver, Johnny O. (Cathy) Sanders, Kelly Sanders and John Wayne Sanders; a host of nieces, nephews, other dear relatives, church members, friends and acquaintances.
