Brookhaven Fire Police Hold 1st Annual Drill at Yaphan k TRAFFIC PROBLEMS were examined bv Brookhaven Fire Police at their first annual drill June 19 at Civil Defense and Fire- matic Training Center , Yaphank. Directing: simulated traffic snarl-up problem are Herman Heller of Center Moriches , right , president of Brookhaven Fire Police , and Deputy Phillip Corso of Suffolk County Sheriff ' s office , holding microphone. The Brookhaven Fire Police Association held its first annual drill at the Civil Defense and Firematic Training Center at Yap hank June 19. A traffic drill was held with Deput y Phil Corso of the Suffolk Coun- ty sheriff' s office as instructor. Traffic was simulated by vehicles driven bv members with opposition from fire apparatus. Alembc rs of the tire police took part in directing traf- fic at intei'sections. After drills a meeting was held in the training center ' s main build- ing. During round table discus- sions , fire police were compliment- ed on their efficiency in handling traffic at the scene of a fire. Regatta Set Sunday At Shirley Yacht Club The Shirley Yacht Club an- nounced this week that it will hold the second regatta of the season Sunday at the Alarina , Shirley, at 2 p. m. The Brookhaven Fire Police Association held its first annual dril lat the Civil Defense and Firematic Training Center at Yaphank June19. A traffic drill was held with Deputy Phil Corso of the Suffolk Coun-ty sheriff's office as instructor. Traffic was simulated by vehicles drivenbv members with opposition from fire apparatus. After drills a meeting was heldin the training center 's main build-ing. During round table discus-sions , fire police were compliment-ed on their efficiency in handl ingtraffic at the scene of a fire.
