About OES - CTST: • This user guide will explain in detail steps to conduct Computer

Typing Exam in MKCL OES.

• Now Computer Typing Exam in OES will be conducted in OES-

Exam Client (Secured Browser) only. CTST application won’t get

installed independently on each client machine & also it cannot

be opened in any Web Browser (I.E., Google Chrome, Firefox).

• So you will have to install & Register the OES-Exam Client on each

client machine where you wish to conduct Computer Typing

Exam.

Steps for Conducting Computer Typing Exam

1. Synchronizing (Download) Event Data & Candidate

Synchronizing (Download) Event Data & Candidate Data from OES-Smart Client

To install OES-Exam Client software on Client machines following Operating System & software configurations is recommended: • Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit) or • Windows XP SP3 (32 bit) or • Windows XP SP2 (64 bit) with Windows Imaging Component

(WIC) component installed before Exam Client software installation.

• You can download and install WIC (64-bit) from following link http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=1385

- User must have Administrative privileges. - Firewall must be disabled on client machine.

OES-Exam Client Installation Prerequisites

You can download & install OES Exam Client from below link http://fileserver.mkcl.org/centerdownload/ALC/OES_CTST_ExamClient.zip

After downloading setup, please unzip the zip file & install OES Exam Client on client machine.

OES Exam Client Installation

Right Click on OES-ExamClient.exe & select Run as administrator. Installation will

get start.

Click on Next

Click on Close

Verify OES-ExamClient Installation

When OES-Exam Client is installed successfully on your machine then you can view the same in Control Panel Uninstall Programs (Add/Remove Programs)

Also you can view the OES-ExamClient shortcut icon on desktop.

Registering/Activating OES-Exam Client Now please Register/Activate the OES Exam Client

Enter IP address of OES server machine & click on Proceed

After Exam Client is registered successfully, Candidate Login Page gets opened.

Double Click on OES Exam Client icon

If you want to close the OES Exam Client then you have to

enter the Supervisor Password

Supervisor Password here is your Center\Venue Code

OES-Exam Client gets opened in full screen by default & cannot be closed by candidate directly.

Candidate enters his Login ID & password & attempts Exam

About CTST Exam Pattern • Each CTST course contains 5 Practice Exam & 1 Main Exam

• Each Practice Exam has 5 attempts & Main Exam has 1 attempt.

• First you have to take any one attempt of any Practice Exam & then only you can attempt the Main Exam

Important Note

If any candidate starts any typing exam but closes CTST window or machine is turned off in between & if he don’t finish attempting that typing exam again then that exam remains in Incomplete status. And exams having incomplete status will get expire in every next week & you won’t get to solve that particular exam again even if any attempts of that exam are still remaining. So always finish attempting exam at same moment/same week.

Example : • Suppose you are attempting a Typing Exam “New English

Typing Practice 2” which is having 5 attempts.

• Now you are attempting this exam & while typing you manually close the CTST window or if machine is turned off abruptly then the status of that exam is incomplete. When you login again & check then you can see its status as shown below.

• You should finish attempting such Incomplete Exam

(Practice/Main) on same day or in same week or before the closes on Date mentioned . If you don’t attempt it in that week then that exam will get expired & you wont be able to take it on next week’s Monday even if that Exam had multiple attempts.

Click on “Take A Test” , CTST application window will get

opened & then you can attempt the Typing Exam

While starting Main Exam, you have to enter Supervisor Password.

Supervisor Password here is your Center\Venue Code

Data Uploading from Administrator login

After you finish attempting Typing Exam, do Administrator Login, all data

will get uploaded automatically. Ensure that internet is connected.

Print Provisional Certificate from Administrator login

After uploading data, you can print the Provisional Certificate for the typing

exam attempted by you

Steps to enable Mangal Font Marathi Typing Keyboard

The Marathi typing course in CTST uses Mangal font. To type in Marathi using Mangal Font, you need to install Devanagari INSCRIPT Keyboard on our Windows 7 Client machine.

Please do below steps to add Devanagari INSCRIPT keyboard on your Windows 7 Client

machine.

1. Go to Control Panel Clock, Language, Region Change Keyboards or other input methods

Click on “Change Keyboards”

Click on “Add”

Click on “Apply” & “OK”

Under Marathi, select Devanagari –INSCRIPT keyboard & click on OK

Click on “OK”

You can see the Language Bar in Task Bar once you

successfully enable Marathi - Devanagari –

How to enable Marathi Typing in CTST

• Before starting to attempt Mangal Font Marathi Typing Test in CTST, press ALT+SHIFT so that the Keyboard changes from English Keyboard to Devanagari – INSCRIPT

Once the keyboard is changed to Devanagari – INSCRIPT, you can type in Marathi in Mangal

Font in CTST.
