In comparison with FTTB solution with internal ethernet UTP installation and many active locations with Ethernet switches, ODU-XS relies on existing in house copper cabling and only one location for complete multi-apartment house. Beside this lower investment advantage, it is maintaining only one location when adding new subscribers, results in lower operational cost and simplifies the need for electricity inlets, battery backups, etc. ODU-XS is the only completly silent high port capacity DSLAM on the market today.
ODU-XS is a small outdoor street cabinet with pre-integrated 32 ports VDSL2 DSLAM and optional spacious cable distribution frame. By using ODU-XS operators can improve their service offer in urban and suburban areas by delivering high speed broadband services to the end user. Simple and fast installation enables instant delivery of 3play services on top of reused copper infrastructure inside the building. ODU-XS is the key building block in FTTB deployment scenarios.
ODU-XS best suits suburban and urban network modernization, covering the need for high
speed broadband service using latest VDSL2 technology. It enables capacity to deliver up to 100Mbps/user inside multi-apartment houses or dense areas of individual houses. Strong business case lies in projects where investment into new indoor FTTB infrastructure is not possible (barriers) or profitable.
ODU-XS is passively cooled, silent in operation, with several powering options (AC, DC, remote) and complete inner environment control and service management. ODU-XS seamlessly blends into any existing network.
ODU-XS comes packed with the latest VDSL2 technology supporting ADSL2+ fallback functionality, and enables optimal usage of copper pairs within whole area of its radius, covering for example all apartments in the building. As such it brings huge bandwidth improvements in comparison with the existing DSL service on copper pairs running from the central office.
ODU-XS can be easily exchanged in case of technology upgrade and even supports introduction of a different type of technology. Passive cabinet part holds copper and optical distribution frames and is well dimensioned, as it provides enough space for all future cable infrastructure interventions.
ODU-XS is easy to transport, fast to install and simple to manage.
