In addition to rocking cover songs with Champagne Tap, Erik performs original songs in his other band, Random Karma. Fortunately for the Tap, Odie doesn’t merely play drums, he sings harmonies and leads in several Tap favorites. In his spare time, Odie runs his own computer programming business, Sprung Technologies. MATTBARCELLONA: leadvocals,percussion Matt began his singing career seven years ago, at the inception of Champagne Tap. is evening is special for Matt; while he has attended many of father’s concerts, this will mark the first opportunity to perform in one alongside his dad. When taking a break from singing, Matt is a community pediatrician in Scottsdale, AZ. GREG WHITE: bass guitar, vocals e missing fifth member of Champagne Tap. solos, fourteen flute choir works, eleven wind quintets, and numerous chamber works commissioned by numerous artists. The complete catalog of over 260 publications is now represented in 47 stores nationwide with presence in Canada, South Korea, Belgium and England. The website www.christophercaliendo.com contains over 300 sound bytes and YouTube performances and all publications are available as downloads. As a Hollywood film and TV composer, he has written scores for the television series Dallas and Knot’s Landing, receiving an Emmy nomination in 1988 for his work on the television series, Paradise. Film soundtracks include the restoration of Major Dundee for SONY Pictures, the 136 minute soundtrack to John Ford’s silent feature, The Iron Horse, which was included in the top 10 film scores of the year by Film Score Monthly magazine. Recently the DVD Box set from 20th Century Fox, Murnau and Borzage at FOX, won him the distinguished Heritage Award for the 2nd year in a row. On September 5th, 2010, the Los Angeles Philharmonic performed selections of his score to The Iron Horse at the Hollywood Bowl in celebration of 20th Century Fox’s 75th Anniversary as a film studio. Mr. Caliendo’s music was performed with John Williams, David Raksin, Jerry Goldsmith, Alfred Newman and Rogers and Hammerstein.

As a concert world music guitarist Mr. Caliendo has performed with numerous Hollywood luminaries such as Ron Perlman, Linda Hamilton, Walter Koenig, Larry King, The Manhattan Transfer.... and was the special performer requested by Bob Hope for his 90th birthday. He is endorsed by Kevin Ryan guitars and performs on the model—The Mission Grand. His numerous recordings are available in stores and online. Keith Hannaleck of Gramophone Magazine has described Christopher as, “... one fantastic guitar player ... simply masterful and as fluid as humanly possible. A great composer ... one of the best musicians in the world.”

Christopher is the recipient of numerous awards and commissions including the Peabody Grant for Scholarship, the Artin Arslanian Award for Composition, The Henry Mancini Film Award, The Music Now Award, The Wilma Drama Scholarship for excellence in the Humanities and a decorative scroll from the City of Los Angeles honoring his achievement as the first American in Vatican history to be twice commissioned by Pope John Paul II.

Composing Success—his motivational seminar taken from his substantial breadth of knowledge in the music industry, targets both composers and performers who desire skills towards establishing self reliance and accountability to know their creative actions are in alignment with their creative purpose.

Christopher is an ecumenical minister at Christ the King Church in Hollywood, California, where he lives with his wife Kristin, the greatest gift of all.

CHAMPAGNE TAP Champagne Tap is a high energy band from Phoenix, Arizona who has been rocking the Valley of the Sun for over six years. The band features chunky guitar riffs and soaring harmonies that will get your feet tapping and hands clapping to the familiar tunes of classic bands, such as Aerosmith and Queen. Fundraising has been a primary motivation for the band as their benefit shows have raised upwards of $100,000 for local charities. The Tap has shared the stage with popular bands O.A.R. and Collective Soul. The band’s name is derived from a slang medical term (three of the band members are physicians). ABOUT JOHN BARCELLONA John Barcellona is the Director of Woodwind Studies and Professor of Flute at CSULB and flutist with the internationally acclaimed Westwood Wind Quintet (recordings on Columbia, Crystal and WIM). The Quintet has recently recorded the complete 24 Quintets of Anton Reicha. The 10 CD of the 12 CD set was released on the Crystal label in Setember 2011. He is also a member of The Caliendo Trio, with guitarist/composer, Christopher Caliendo and Cellist, Ian Flatt. The Caliendo Trio released its first CD Caliendo World Music Hits, Volume I, in August 2007. The Caliendo Barcellona Duo is currently performing concernts throughout the United States. He also teaches doctoral students at Claremont Graduate University and plays in the Faculty Trio with harpsichordist Robert Zappulla and Shanon Zusman on viola da gamba.

An active freelance musician in the Southern California area, he has played Principal Flute with the Pacific Symphony, the Royal Ballet, the Royal Danish Ballet, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Joffery and the San Francisco Ballet. Studio credits include recordings for Disney such as the motion picture The Newsies, and film scores composed by Christopher Caliendo. His solo album, Is this the Way to Carnegie Hall (w/Calvin Smith, horn) was nominated to the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for a Grammy award.

He was also a member of the Moyse Duo, with pianist, Louis Moyse. He is active on the masterclass/recital circuit and has collaborated with many prominent flutists including Julius Baker, William Bennett, Michel Dubost, Louis Moyse, Robert Dick, Robert Langevin, Carol Wincenc and many others. He has been design consultant for the A.D. Geoffrey, Natuski, Maramatsu Flute Companies and was also the designer of the Barcellona Model Kori Flute. He has written a column for Flute Talk magazine entitled, “The Flute Doctor.” This was their first and only series of complete flute pedagogy articles.

This summer he was guest artist at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival for the 29th consecutive year and has made several appearances at the International Cello Encounter in Rio de Janero, Brazil. He received his B.M. from Hartt School of Music, M.A. from CSULB and D.M.A. from USC. His principle teachers were Harold Bennett, Carl Bergner, Roger Stevens and John Wummer.

SHUN-LIN CHOU Dr. Shun-Lin Chou has appeared internationally in concerto, solo, and chamber performances. Declared “an artist of international stature” (Taiwan Times), who “shined at the piano ... effortlessly and flawlessly” (Schwäbische Zeitung, Germany), he has performed to critical acclaim as soloist with over a dozen orchestras in such prestigious venues as the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore, and the Eastman Theatre.

Dr. Chou has completed an around-the-world recital tour to Europe and Asia, with successful performances in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United States. Recent appearances include concerto re-engagements with the Gala Festival Orchestra (Taiwan), Braddell Heights Symphony (Singapore), as well as the Antelope Valley Symphony, and the Long Beach Community Concert Association. An experienced chamber musician, Chou was a member of the Hawthorne Trio, the resident artist group at Missouri State University.

An active adjudicator and clinician, Shun-Lin Chou has adjudicated for Music Teachers National Association, Fite Young Artist Piano Festival, and the national Hellam Competition, among others, and has presented masterclasses and lecture

recitals in colleges and universities in several countries. He was invited to serve a four-day residency in Kansas City, Missouri, as the KCMTA’s 2002 master teacher. He has held a number of posts in music teachers organization, serving twice as Missouri Music Teachers Association’s Convention Chair and is currently state chair of Honors Auditions for California Association of Professional Music Teachers.

Dr. Shun-Lin “Sam” Chou was appointed Director of Keyboard Studies at California State University, Long Beach in August, 2003. Prior to joining the faculty at CSULB, he served as a tenured associate professor of piano at Missouri State University. An experienced teacher of students of all ages and levels, he has previously taught at Tunghai University summer music festival in Taiwan, the Missouri Fine Arts Academy, the Preparatory Piano Laboratory Program at the University of Michigan, and the Eastman School of Music. Chou earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree and the prestigious Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music after being awarded a Graduate Fellowship, and received a Masters in Piano Pedagogy and Performance degree from the University of Michigan. His principal teachers include Nelita True, Louis Nagel and Reginald Gerig.

DARRIN THAVES Darrin Thaves is Instructor of Flute at California State University, Long Beach and maintains a successful private studio in Long Beach, CA. He is also Principal Flute with the Northwest Sinfonietta and co-director of the Long Beach Flute Institute and Northwest Flute Collegium Summer Camps.

Darrin was asked to give the North American premier of Emil Vicklicky’s Concerto for Flute, Harp, and String Orchestra at the World Harp Congress in July 2010 and was the winner of the 2005 National Flute Association Convention Performers Competition and the 2000 Seattle Ladies Music Club Young Artist Competition. He was a member of the National Flute Association Professional Flute Choir in 2005 and 2010.

An active teacher and adjudicator, he has judged for Orange County Musical Arts, CSULB Middle School Flute Competition, MTNA Western Regionals, SCSBOA High School and Middle School All-Southern Honor Group Auditions, Seattle Ladies Music Club Young Artist Competition, and many more.

He is the coordinator of the annual CSULB Flute Competitions and past-coordinator for the NFA High School Soloist Competition. Founding the Pacific Flute Ensemble in 2000, Darrin has conducted the group in featured performances at the 2005 and 2010 National Flute Association Conventions. As a conductor, he has been asked to lead Flute Choir Sight-reading Sessions at two National Conventions.

Darrin Thaves is an honors graduate of the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a 1999 Deans List Graduate of California State University of Long Beach with a Masters in Flute Performance. He has been featured on the 2nd City Chamber Music Series, P.U.M.A Series, Tacoma Art Museum Chamber Music Series, and performed at the National Flute Convention on numerous occasions.

CHRISTOPHER CALIENDO has composed & published over 550 world music compositions, many of which are standards in today’s repertoire. Specific to flute alone, his catalog of world music compositions includes 3 concertos, ten sonatas, forty seven flute and guitar duets, eleven flute
