My membership in ODHA keeps me connected and up to date in my career – that I love, I might add!

Most important, because the province is responsible for health care – and dental hygiene is part of that – I put my support in Ontario. After all, the government makes decisions about how we work in this province.

ODHA provides input on those decisions and can often influence them. ODHA is on top of issues, knows how the political system works and advocates on our behalf. No one else is going to do this for us. And ODHA has a good track record.

We need to grow our membership, make it larger and stronger so that our voice is heard where it counts most – our careers and our future.

If it wasn’t for ODHA getting self-initiation for us, I would never be where I am today – running a successful dental hygiene clinic. It’s a dream come true.

My parents came to Canada when I was very young. They worked hard and everything they did was for their children. When I became a dental hygienist, they were so proud of me – even prouder

when I started my own practice. My parents are my biggest supporters – and my most loyal clients!

I owe all this to my Association. ODHA fought for us and achieved self-initiation

allowing me to work for myself. For this reason alone, I will always support ODHA. They understand the trends and issues and I trust them to make the right decisions for the profession.

While I appreciate all the membership benefits ODHA provides, I tend to choose professional development. The courses are so valuable and worth every cent. And a lot are free.

I attended one of the corporate-sponsored seminars and was impressed with the quality of the speakers and relevance to my practice. The Re-energize Conference is worth the membership alone.

I may not use all the benefits and services ODHA offers, but I know they are there if I need them. I also know ODHA has our back, especially when it comes to malpractice. I’ve never had to use our malpractice insurance but if I did, I know ODHA gives us excellent coverage – the best in the province.

That’s a huge weight off our shoulders when you think about it.
