Oculoplastic surgeryis a procedure performed to treat medical and surgical deformities of eye lids, eye socket, tear ducts and the surrounding face. This sub-speciality of ophthalmology is directly related to plastic surgery and includes reconstruction of the eye and associated structures. Oculoplastic surgeons must have done training in plastic surgery after completing degree in ophthalmology. The surgeons need to have extensive knowledge and experience in order to perform oculoplastic surgery.
