Principal’s Message
Parents you should have receivedyour child’s progress report. Teachers
are also setting up conferences todiscuss your child’s learning goals and
scores. If you have not had aconference, please schedule one soon.At the conference, many teachers have been sharing Discovery Educationinformation which is one of our school’s assessment tools thatmonitors skills for all students ingrade K through 5. Students are DEtested three times a year. The DEreport is available for parents toobserve strengths and weaknesses inmath and reading. Our website will be posting a Discovery EducationPowerPoint for parents to view moreinformation about DE soon. Toimprove academic progress studentsmust be at school and on time. TheParent Institute research shares thatattendance is one of the single mostimportant factors. Share with your
child why education is important andgive an example of important peoplethey know who work. Discuss withyour child that getting enough sleepand exercise helps them at school too.Poor habits are hard to break oncethey get started.. Children need tohear that sometimes adults want tostay home too, but it is our responsibility to go to work andschool. Students really do notunderstand “it is the Law”. Please tryto schedule appointments after school
and family trips on vacation days.Seminole County has a TruancyPolicy which every school must abide by. Notifications have started to gohome for numerous tardies andabsences. We all have busy lives butour children’s education should be atop priority. We have noticed thatfewer and fewer students are walkingto school or riding their bikes. Both of
these are excellent activities and itwould not only improve academic performance but also lower thenumber of cars on the ramp. (Smile)Play 60 was in the last newsletter andinformation will be posted to our website. I am looking forward to thefall weather, the Book Fair, FallFestival, and a lot of Koalas beingsuccessful this year!
Until next time,Ms. Adamczyk
