The Bible’s “B” Hive

God’s Holy Word is full of what His people are to “be”. Here are just a few of what He demands of us.

1. II Corinthians 6:17 BE Ye separate. See John 17:11-16

2. Ephesians 4:32 BE Ye kind one to another.

3. Philippians 4:6 BE Careful for nothing.

4. Colossians 3:15 BE Ye Thankful

5. James 5:8 BE YE also patient

6. I Peter 1:15-16 BE Ye Holy, why because as it is written: Leviticus 11:44, Leviticus 19:2

7. Hebrews 13:5 BE Content.

8. As a follow up to Hebrews 13:5, Paul tells us in Philippians 4:11 once again “to

be content” “in whatsoever state I am”. The is something we as God’s People

must learn.

Edinburg– Our church has been very busy this year serving the Lord. We just finished our movie room. Kelly Hines at-tended the Northwest WMU Conference at Grand

Oaks. She learned a lot about missions and some new ideas. September 16th we had “2nd Generation” music group at our church with 36 in atten-dance. We really enjoyed them. We have had some accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior this year. We Praise the Lord for that. We have some things coming up in Octo-ber. The 14th we have a outing event planned for our Silver Society group. Also on the 14th of October, we will be hosting the NGR Prayer Breakfast at 8:00 am. Eve-ryone is welcome to come. The 29th, we will have Trunk and Treat at 5:00 pm. If you don’t have a church home or would like to visit us- Sunday School is at 10:00 am and Worship Service is at 11:00 am. We also have a nursery and Children’s Church at 11:00 am we have Sunday eve-ning services at 6:00 pm and Wednesday night Bible Study at 7:00 pm.

Gallatin- Pioneer Club is off to a great start this year. Our first unit has focused on discovering God’s way: How God is an amazing Creator, How God is faithful & a promise keeper, How God gives us the gift of Salvation & How God is our Heavenly Father. During activity time they have been learning how to care for God’s world that he created for us. Kids’ Praise Choir will begin Wednesday Oct. 4th at 4:30. We will be working on the musical "An Unplugged Christmas." Keenagers will meet for the monthly lunch-eon on Thursday, October 5. FBC will be helping with the "Kickin' Cancer With Kindness" benefit, Saturday, October 7, 5 to 6:30 pm in front of Methodist Church. All funds from this benefit will go toward travel expenses for individuals who are fighting cancer in Daviess County. Our church will be donating the baked beans, and a basket for the silent auction, please donate items for the basket from our church for this event. Items may be left in church office. A Fall Festival is planned for October 29 from 5 to 7 pm, under the direction of Wood and Ashley Marshall.

Princeton- There are so many exciting things happening at First Baptist Church of Princeton! Here is just a brief snapshot of some of what we have going on: We re-launched our Children’s and Youth Wednesday night ministries on August 30th. We are using the LifeWay “Bible Skills, Drills & Thrills curriculum for our Kindergarten through sixth graders. We had 31 kids in at-tendance on September 13th! Our Youth ministry has restarted as well, we share a meal and God’s Word with them as well as have some quality hang out time while show-ing them the tangible love of Jesus and the church. So far this school year we have aver-aged about a dozen youth. Our Tuesday Night Young Adults Bible Study – “The Living Room” (ages 25-50) has really been growing. The last two weeks we have had 33 and 31 respectively, with 5 different churches being represented. Praise God! Our Women’s Ministry has begun a Beth Moore series, Stepping Up, and we have 24 ladies enrolled from 4 different churches. We are very blessed to have the “Spencer Family” coming on October 1st for “A Morn-ing of Worship” with a pot-luck dinner to fol-low. Trenton FBC- On October 8th we will be emphasizing “World Hunger” Sunday. Fol-lowing the service we will have a dinner where you will draw a number that you will be served just beans, or just rice, or both or maybe a nice dinner. We will be having a Church Singspiriation on the 5th Sunday in October.

Missouri Days Booth- Associational Mission Project The association will be having a booth for Missouri Days. We are asking churches to help man the booth for one hour. We need someone from 10 am to 11 am, from 11 am to noon and from 4 pm to 5 pm. We also need help to take down the booth after 5 pm. If you can help on Saturday, October 21, please call the Mission Center at 359-3898.

Women wanted for

Missions that

Unite us with Gods purpose

Our numbers were small, but our spirit was mighty. Five regular members met on Septem-ber 19th at the association office for our fall kickoff meeting.

We opened with prayer and special requests were heard for many individuals and in particu-lar our president, our association, and victims of the recent hurricanes.

We discussed how we would evangelize at Missouri Days on October 21. We will continue with the cookie stand outside the association office and add coffee and bottled water. Sev-eral members will put the activity in their church bulletin for help with the cookies. The pa-rade starts at 8:30 and we should be there by 7am to help. This year we will be offering small bottles of water with a verse at the event.

Christina Boatwright shared about her first year as interim BSU director. She has had many challenges, but has seen many rewards. Many students are attending the scheduled events and many are asking questions leading to opportunities to share Christ. She also talked about the mission trip in May to White Dog reserve in Canada and the need for a Pastor to get a church started.

Virginia Crumpacker gave a devotion on Joshua 22:1-6 which should be our guide for the year. It challenged us to love God, walk in obedience, keep his commands, hold on to our faith and serve him with all our heart.

Our next meeting is October 17 at the Mission Center, 10:30 am.

A luncheon and fellowship were shared by all. Shelly Sims NGR WMU Director

October is Cooperative Program Month For every $1 that is given– .42 goes to the Southern Baptist Convention- .38 goes to Missouri Baptist Convention- .15 related causes in Missouri and .05 to shared items.
