Time certainly does fly when you are having fun! I cannot believe that we have closed out the month of September and are embarking into our first month of fall. Happy October everyone!
I am pleased to report that our Franklin Park family is off to a great start to the academic year. Our displays of authentic student work through-out the building are daily reminders of our accomplishments.
The FPS administrative team has enjoyed their visits into each class-room and are anxious to spend more time with your children. We re-main focused on our building’s goals and are constantly working collaboratively, planning with our staff so we can continue to make our mark, one step at a time! I look forward to seeing you at our parent/teacher conferences.
Stop & Shop A+ Bonus Bucks Program!
The Stop and Shop A+ Program is underway!
With A+ Bonus Bucks, points accrue with each purchase when your Stop & Shop Card is used. It even works with purchases
made online with Peapod by Stop & Shop. At the end of each
month, these points determine our school's cash total which is
automatically credited to an account designated for our school.
Totals are updated each month.
To participate, FPS families must register their cards every year.

In this beautiful autumn season, the Franklin Park School
family hosts a Parade of Costumes
for students in Pre-K to Grade 2 on October 31st. The Parade of Costumes:
Kindergarten 1:25 pm 1st Grade 1:40 pm
2nd Grade 1:55 pm AM Pre-K 10:00 am at the Annex PM Pre-K 1:00 pm at the Annex
*Our guidance department will be available to attend to your child if he/she chooses not to participate in the parade.*
We are asking that you follow the directions below to guarantee safety and fun for all on the 31st:
Pre-School students should wear their costumes to school.
Kindergarten-Grade 2 students should bring their costumes to school in a bag
labeled with their full name and homeroom. Costumes violent in nature and/or with weapons will not be allowed. Staff members will not be able to apply make-up on students.
Please follow the parade schedule and report directly to the parade area. In
order to maintain our safe school environment, no parents will be allowed back in the building and will need to leave the school grounds immediately following the parade.
If you plan on attending one or both of the parades, please report directly to
the posted areas outside. Please do not enter the school building.
Once the parade is over, parents should allow their child to return to their
homeroom with their teacher and finish the school day. If you are planning to take your child home from the parade, you must sign them out in the attendance office.
All parades will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
You are invited to watch your child march in the parade, take pictures, and enjoy the celebration with us. However, please remember that since you will be parking along our entrance, you will have to leave immediately following the parade to make
room for the busses. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
Franklin Park School proudly recognizes the following students
for being selected for the 2011–2012 School Safety Patrol
Program. These outstanding students did an excellent job with
the application and interview process and will have a direct role in
maintaining a safe and peaceful school.
FPS school safety patrollers join over 562,000 students in over
30,000 schools nationwide who are helping to keep others safe on
their way to and from school.
These boys and girls will sacrifice their personal time to ensure the
safety of their fellow students. Rain or shine, the safety patrol
students are often the first to arrive to school and the last to leave.
It is our honor to announce this year’s team!

Franklin Park Loves Technology
The PTO at FPS has recently assisted
the school in acquiring a SMART
Board and a set of Student Response
Systems (a.k.a. Clickers). The Smart
Board has been installed in the
Media Center. The Technology
Committee at FPS is working on
making the use of this equipment a
reality. Buddy training sessions are
being designed to train staff members
who need to learn how to use the new
technology. These types of
technology have been
proven to improve
learning outcomes.
