My Testimony My name is Gregory D. Yarbrough A.KA. Lumpy. I was born and raised in Albuquerque. One year after I graduated from high school I left home to see what Albuquerque was really about. I found out that city was drug infested and it didn’t take long before I was selling and using drugs. It was also at that point my life that I got sent to the penitentiary for the first time, but it didn’t stop there. Alto- gether I spent 22 years of my adult life behind bars. That is half of my adult life. When I got out I went to stay with my child's mother but it wasn’t working out so I called my little brother Ste- vie Yarbrough, Pastor Jennies husband to come and get me. He brought me to Sandia Church of the Nazarene in the South Valley and that is where I started seek- ing the Lord Jesus Christ. It took me a few months to become a member and I say that because I was scared. Since I’ve been liv- ing down at the Valley Church I learned to love myself more. I’m trying to stay focused on the Lord so I don’t fall real hard again. I have slipped here and there, but I always find myself on my knees repenting to the good Lord. Jesus is real and I want to enter the good Lords Kingdom. God Bless Everyone Gregory D. Grace Restoration Center continues to impact the

South Valley through the power of the Holy Spirit. Celebrate Recov-

ery, a Christian 12 step program, challenges participants to bravely look

deep within themselves and seek God for healing and forgiveness. At the

end of every lesson each person is invited to begin or deepen his or her

relationship with Jesus Christ, the only True Higher Power. Our food

bank and free clothing programs give our members a chance to get out into the

community and form new relationships with our neighbors so that we can begin to

make disciples of the South Valley.

Hey students,

This October we are going start making this youth group grow. We have lots

of stuff planned for this month and we can’t wait to have you involved. Friday

night R.A.V.E. is getting bigger every service and we hope that you can be

involved in that as well. We have Praise and Worship music directed toward

the youth. If you have a talent such as singing, raping, or playing an

instrument, we can use you for this service. We have to use our talents for the

Lord. Last but not least we have our Harvest fiesta on Oct. 29. We will have

jump toys for the teens of the South Valley. So bring your friends and

come join us in the Resistance 4:7 youth

ministry. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Word from your Pastor

Fred Rodriguez

“When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with

eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you

the testimony about God. For I resolved to know

nothing while I was with you except Jesus

Christ and him crucified. I came to you in

weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my

preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a

demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on men's

wisdom, but on God's power” (1 Corinthians 2:1-5 NIV).

As I witness the different testimonies that are happening in the church, I am reminded

of this text written by the Apostle Paul. Paul reminds us that it is not our story that is

impressive or that gives hope to others but it is the story of Jesus that is the Gospel. What is

happening in the lives of those around me is exciting to see of how Jesus not only forgives sins but

empowers us with His Holy Spirit to live a life that truly reflects deliverance from sin, and victory over

the world. I am encouraged more today to share the Gospel of Jesus with others more than ever before,

expecting miracles to take place in the lives who hear this His story. I invite you to become story

tellers with me as we share the Gospel with the City of Albuquerque.
