Official Newsletter of Division 4, Thundering Waters
Volume 1, Issue 7
Hello Everyone,
It’s November!
November is known as
Kiwanis Month! This
month is dedicated to
all the branches of
Kiwanis. All branches
team up to help save
lives and inspire each
other.
November is also a
special month for Key
Club, #keyclubweek.
Key club week is held
throughout November
3rd – 7th. It’s a week full
of promoting key club
and hosting fundraisers
for social service
projects!
.
In October, Divisions 2, 3, 4
and 5, along with non-key
clubbers attended the Key
Leader Camp in Brantford.
The weekend was filled with
information on how to be a
“Key Leader.” We were
taught the values of being a
service leader, on personal
integrity, sticking to your
moral compass, and
growing as an individual and
testing out new limits,
respecting yourself and
those around you and finally
excelling on the goals, which
you have set out.
The participants also got the
chance to go climb on low
ropes and play team
building activities.
Integrity can be neither lost
nor concealed nor faked nor
quenched nor artificially
come by nor outlived, nor, I
believe, in the long run,
denied” – Eudra Wetly
Becoming a Service Leader
The great leader is seen as
servant first and that simple
fact is the key to his greatness
- Robert K. Greenleaf
If we’re growing, we’re always
going to be out of out comfort
zone.
- John Maxwell
It was October 31st; it was
raining cats and dogs. The
weather was not
cooperating but, the key
clubber still went on.
Trick or Treat for UNICEF is
an initiative to help kids
who need more than just
candy.
The results for Division 4 are
in, the total is … $1,000.42!
AND WE’RE STILL
COUNTING!
Trick or Treat A Night Out in Town
On October 2nd, Saint
Paul and A.N. Myer
volunteered at the
Community Outreach
Centre once again. The
Community Outreach
centre held a dinner
event to raise funds.
By the end of the night,
the Community
Outreach center had
raised $2000. The money
will be used for the
supplies and
maintenance for the
center.
Life’s most persistent and
urgent question is, ‘What
are you doing for
others?’ – Martin Luther
King JR.
In October, Saint Paul
Catholic High School held a
workshop for Mats for
Uganda.
Mats for Uganda is an
organization that provides
birthing mats to women in
Uganda who do not have
proper supplies. It also
provides sleeping mats to the
women and children. The
mats reduce the chance of
illness, mold, and pest
infection of spreading.
HAVE A
WONDERFUL
