You are warmly invited to join other Christians for 40 Days for Life—40 days of prayer and faasting for an end to abortion. You are also invited to stand and peacefully pray duing a 40-day vigil in the public sidewalk in front of the Cummins Center, route 62, Beverly (Health Quarters abortion clinic is located on the prem-ises), and also to help spread the word about this important community outreach. ST. MARY’S GRAND ANNUAL COLLECTION OCTOBER 26-27, 2019
We say goodbye and we begin anew.
As we begin anew, together as a parish and a community of faith, we say good bye to Father Karlo. One of the best ways we can recognize his five years of devotion to this parish and to our Collaborative, and as a means of thanking him for the work he did in building up the kingdom of God in our parish is to honor him by making this Grand Annual Collection our best ever.
Please honor Father Karlo by making your dona-tion to this year’s Grand Annual Collection, to be held the weekend of October 26-27.

RCIA ~~ “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults”
We are now in the process of getting our RCIA Program ready for the new year. RCIA includes people in-terested in becoming Catholic, Catholics who were baptized but never received the Sacraments of Confir-mation and First Eucharist, people who were baptized in another denomination and wish to be full members of the Church, as well as full members of the Church who share their own experiences and help prepare people to receive the Sacraments. People who participate in the RCIA usually people receive the Sacra-ments at the Easter Vigil. The length of the program varies, depending on the person’s individual needs and desires.
If you think the RCIA may be just what you are looking for, here are some questions you might ask yourself:
1. Have you ever thought about becoming a Catholic? 2. Are you baptized in another Christian faith but have been coming to Mass with your family? 3. Do you wonder just how long it would take to become a part of the Catholic Church? 4. Are you waiting for just the right time, thinking someday I’ll look into it?
If you have answered yes to any of these questions, the RCIA may be the perfect fit for you.
On Thursday, October 3rd, we will have an information session on the RCIA. We will meet at the Collaborative Offices (552 Cabot Street, the former St. John’s Rectory) at 7:00PM. Also, if you know of someone who might be interested, why not give a copy of this bulletin with the information.

October is the month of the Most Holy Ro-sary. During this month, I invite everyone to pray your rosary. I especially encourage families to pray the rosary together as a family. If you do not already pray the rosary regularly, it can take getting used to. Howev-er, the more you pray the rosary, the more comfortable and comforting this beautiful prayer will become. In families and among couples, share the prayers of the rosary, take turns leading the decades and myster-
ies. Sometimes the rosary can become like a race to the finish line. Slow it down a little. Meditate on the individual mysteries and upon the words of the Our Father, Hail Mary and the Glory Be. Pause and concentrate on the Fatima Prayer:
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy. Amen.
Let these words not merely be on our lips but spring from the depths of our hearts. Let them resonate in our minds and hearts after the rosary has been completed. Carry a rosary with you in your pocket or purse. Keep a rosary in your car and on your nightstand. Praying the rosary in traf-fic is a wonderful way to beat the tension and stress that freeway congestion can cause. Praying the rosary also beats wasting time playing games on our phones, texting or surfing the net.
Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, Pray for us!
