for national recognition, monetary awards and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.! The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honors students in grades 5-12 for making meaningful

contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Applications are now open for 2019 awards. Here's how it works:

By November 6, 2018, students must submit their completed applications, and signed student/parent agreements, to a certifier.

Applications are now being accepted for Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY). HOBY has inspired young people for over six decades to make a difference and become catalysts for positive change in their home, school, workplace, and community. Students spend 3-4 days engaging in leadership development activities, collaborating with students from throughout the state, and exploring leadership from three perspectives: individual, group, and society. VETERANS DAY EVENTS ASSEMBLY—Nov. 9, 9 AM, Performance Gym BREAKFAST— Nov. 9, 8 AM, Seminar Room Are you a Veteran who served honorably in the Armed Forces? We would like to recognize your sacrifice and service to our nation. Marietta High School holds an annual Veterans Day Assembly to honor those who have served. We are extending this invitation to our local community and invite you to attend this commemorative event on Friday, 9 November 2018, 9 a.m. in the Marietta High School Performance Gym. We will take time out to individually recognize all veterans in attendance. A continental breakfast will be served to our Veterans at 8 a.m. in the Seminar Room. If you would like to be recognized, please email the following information no later than Wednesday, 7 November 2018 to Mrs. C. C. Money will be donated to local Substance Abuse Prevention Non-Profit. Students and staff will receive a sticker with $1 donation to wear a costume. PTSA table will set up in the cafeteria during lunch on 10/25-10/30 to collect $1 donations. They will also receive donations in front of the staircase on Wednesday 10/31 from 7:20-9AM
