Although it was a hazy day on the morning of Sat- urday October 23rd, the San Gabriel mountains, covered by a light mist, was breathtaking. Volvo was showing off their new S60 to the media and oth- ers, who were given a chance to drive the sleek new beauty around the parking lot on two coned courses, one for the risk taker and the other for the faint of heart! Either way the driv- ers lined up to either drive on their own or be driven. You would have expected a lot of noise from the cars, but unlike racing cars, this Volvo is ex- tremely quiet. I was leaning on a Volvo, which suddenly took off without a hum. I did not realize there was anybody in the car. Demetrios Sboukis, tour man- ager showed and explained the features of the car.
