ON BEHALF OF ALL MY COLLEAGUES AT GREENBIZ GROUP,

WELCOME TO VERGE SF 2014!

This year, we’ve taken things to a whole new level. Our program reflects

more diversity across our 250 speakers and more practical, scalable,

solutions-focused topics than ever before. In that light, we’re excited to

offer special working sessions to move the needle in the direction of real

action together.

Also, be sure to check out our expanded VERGE Interconnect showcase and

the microgrid that is powering our entire conference on 100% renewables!

As always, we encourage you to attend sessions outside of your area of

focus, talk to people with whom you don’t usually interact and be open to

new opportunities. We look forward to your thoughts and welcome your

feedback.

Sincerely,

VERGE Program Director, Senior Analyst, GreenBiz Group

Elaine Hsieh

SPECIAL PROGRAMS:CITY SUMMITHosted in partnership with C40 and the Urban Sustainability Directors Network, City Summit brings together leaders from the public, private and NGO sectors to focus on how cities and companies can work together more effectively to accelerate cities’ carbon-reduction goals.

WORKING SESSIONSLook for the “Working Sessions” listed in our program if you’re interested in rolling up your sleeves and collaboratively developing practical, scalable solutions focused on distributed energy innovations, resilient urban infrastructure and clean energy acceleration.

VERGE ACCELERATEVERGE Accelerate is a pitch competition that provides entrepreneurs the opportunity to get in front of the diverse VERGE community: corporate executives from the largest companies in the world, officials from progressive cities, thought leaders and others.

Selected companies give a 2.5-minute pitch-style presentation from the main stage to the VERGE SF audience and live-streamed to a global audience and video captured for archive.

VERGE INTERCONNECTVERGE Interconnect will be powered by an operational, temporary and replicable microgrid, a living and vivid demonstration of the potential of distributed energy generation and smart systems. As the interactive showcase component of VERGE SF, it will highlight the leading advancements in energy, information, building and transportation technologies.

VERGE AFTER DARKJoin fellow industry leaders and change makers at VERGE After Dark. Wednesday after the conference, we will cross-pollinate our communities in a special evening of connection, music and more. VERGE After Dark will be held 8pm-Midnight at Monarch, 101 6th Street at Mission.
