Thanksgiving Food Drive

December Dinner Meeting

Discussion of possible organizations needing donations was had. Dr. Eggenberger asked we keep The Lord’s Place in Palm Beach County in mind for future events.

Dates and locations were discussed. Romano’s Macaroni Grill on December 15 was decided. Attendees will pay for their own meal. Motion was made to accept. Seconded.

Dr. Barry will contact Village Academy to see if they would be willing to accept donations.

Jennifer will email Dean Smith for permission to put boxes in the lobby.

Roshini will confirm the date with the restaurant.

Spring Programs

Research Night 2015 Jean Davis will present. Looking for more presenters – Dr. King offered backup but would prefer to present in the fall. Should involve students from evidence-based practice course.

Roshini will email Dr. Longo about incorporating this night into her class.

Finance Report Rhonda Goodman reported. Informational See separate finance report for details.

Recruitment Posters, community involvement, publicity

Faculty can start spreading the word about Sigma now. Posters can be hung now. Will host a recruitment event in January. Perhaps pair an event with the SNA. Solicit hospitals, alumni, students, etc. Jennifer will be at the FAU expo for high school students on 11/1.

Roshini will make a fact sheet for faculty to distribute (specifically Dr. Eggenberger).

Suzy and Roshini will collaborate on paired event.

Dr. King will email Roshini a list of nurse educators at the hospitals.

Roshini will make a brochure for Jennifer to hand out at the expo.

Other Business Chapter Facebook page - Debora DeAraujo will manage it.

Dr. Goodman has a telephone meeting with the producer about showing the movie here at FAU. We can charge and/or offer CEs. Could be an opportunity for recruitment also. May need to contact Elise at the library to obtain DVD and stream.

Nancy Parent advised Roshini of difficulty in obtaining approval and possibility of cost.

Dr. Chadwell will contact Pat at the FNA for information on their screening.

Dr. Eggenberger reported excellent feedback from Kristen Swanson who was told by Pamela Mitchell about our chapter and school. Gwen Sherwood also provided good feedback.

Next Meeting Dinner meeting on December 15.

If the board feels another meeting is necessary before December 15, Roshini will call another meeting.
