Despite their inability to support their weight, vines have remarkable strength and climbing
tactics. Join us as we hike to observe local vines and see their intricate design.

Thur, Oct 1 - Full Moon Paddle 6:30 - 9 p.m. Activity #: 29251
The Full Harvest Moon allowed farmers to work well into the night. For us, it is to explore the
river well into the night. All equipment is provided. Please arrive by 6:15 p.m. Meet at Back
Gate, 8670 Shoreline Drive, FW 76135. Pre-registration required. $20 (with paid admis-

Before the Nature Center existed, towering trees already dotted the Refuge. Hike with us and
learn about the ancient trees found along the Crosstimbers Trail. Pre-registration required.

Paddle along the West Fork of the Trinity River and see the waterfowl getting ready for the
winter. All equipment is provided. Meet at the Canoe Launch. Pre-registration required.

Wed, Oct 7 - Backyard Birdsongs 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Activity #: 29882
You may be able to identify area birds by their color and markings. Can you identify them by
sound? If not, join a naturalist and learn the different bird songs and how to tell birds apart.

Hike with us through prairies and riverbottom forest, while exploring the diversity of habitats

Come and discover the different stories about animals around Greer Island. We will even learn

Tue, Oct 13 - Kayak Tour 1 - 2:30 p.m. Activity #: 29255
If you have not paddled in a kayak, you will see it is different than a canoe. Paddle with us to
find out. Kayakers must be at least 14 years old. Minors must be accompanied by their guardi-
an; otherwise at least 18 years old. Meet at the Canoe Launch. Pre-registration required.

While you are sleeping, owls come alive. Join a naturalist and learn about the many adapta-

Join us for a hike off the beaten path. You won't find this trail on the map. Accompany a natu-

All across the Refuge, spiders are building webs in order to catch food. Join us as we search

Cancellation Policy—Cancellations for fee program must be made 72 hours prior to
program date to receive a refund. Cancellations made within 72 hours of program will
be applied to your account and are subject to a $5 fee per person/per program.
No other refunds or credits will be issued. Additionally, no refunds will be issued to
anyone that arrives past the time slot listed on their reservation.
