SEPTEMBER EAST DISTRICT RALLY REPORT
The Lord blessed us with a great East District Rally that was held on September 18th at West Bend FCOG in Powell County. There were 20 congregations represented at this service. Host Pastor James Combs opened up the front doors of the church as the sanctuary was full. It was a blessing to witness as people sat outside to be a part of this service. Host Pastor James Combs welcomed those in attendance. The Ministers gathered together to voice a special prayer, led by Pastor Bill Carpenter, for Aaron Williams (son of Pastor Chris Williams), who is still recovering from a car accident. The worship leader for the Rally was Brandon Pelfrey. He was accompanied on the piano by Mike Harmon. The pre-service music was provided by Godsent as well as blessing us with two specials during the worship service. Our guest speaker was Pastor Glyndon Woosley from White Oak FCOG. Pastor Woosley shared a challenging message, “The Three Essentials of a Christian Life”. The offertory prayer was given by Pastor Terry Frerichs from Preston FCOG and Pastor Brad Epperson from Clay City FCOG sang the offertory song. East District Chairman, Jeff Justice, closed the service with a special presentation honoring Pastor Garland and Sue Lacy who currently serve at Middle Fork FCOG. The Lacy’s have served in the ministry for the past 45 years. They were presented with a certificate of appreciation and a gift card from the East District. The next East District Rally will be held on October 16 at the Big Mud Lick FCOG in Johnson County. The guest speaker will be Pastor Bobby Hollon from Jackson FCOG. The special singing will be provided by “Two for One”. Host Pastor Phillip Keeton would like to invite everyone to attend this special service. Hope to see you there! Bro Jeff Justice East District

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Well once again we find ourselves heading
into the cooler weather of fall. Fall is a beautiful time. A time when God
seemingly takes His brush and paints us a majestic mural, right before our
eyes. This time of the year, let’s realize what a wonderful, loving and graceful God we have. It’s also
during this time of year it’s important for us to keep our minds on Him. The many activities of fall
can sometimes deter our thoughts from His purpose in our lives. To help us do just that I want to
remind of a quote from Stephen R. Covey, “Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a
habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.” Of course the principle that this
quote teaches is nothing new. God has weaved this principle into mankind. Proverbs 23:7 says, for
as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. And Paul reminded us in Philippians 4:8, to think about things
that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of a good report. We can plainly see, what we think about
is important, because that’s the direction we usually follow. To help direct our thoughts I want to
use the points of Glyndon Woosley’s message he preached at September’s Rally. Let’s keep our
thoughts on the way to go, the truth to know and the life to grow. All of these things are simply
found in our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you this fall season and His grace
continue to shine in your life.
Your brother in Ministry,
Terry Frerichs Vice Chairman of the East District
