Casa Hogar Faces a Different Mexico
Over the past three years Casa Hogar Mami has been quietly deal-
ing with the violence that has enveloped Reynosa. Mission groups
are cutting their Mexico traveling, donations have suffered, and
most of all the children have suffered.
Currently the school the children attend has 15 teachers for 700
students. Bullying is rampant. Their learning is minimalized and
the children are confused. Cartel members hang out around the
school watching for future prospects into their gangs. Life is differ-
ent for Casa Hogar Mami as well as all the other orphanages along
the border. It’s a new time and it calls for new ideas and new pro-
grams to care for the safety for the children. The good news is
Casa Hogar is working hard by researching new programs, search-
ing for new donors, and developing a new awareness of their situ-
ation.
In this issue you’ll see what we’re doing to combat the difficulties
and to develop stronger and healthy children…...

Not too pretty to look at now, but this is the gate that leads to a home located next to Casa
Hogar Mami and purchased through an anonymous donor for Casa Hogar. With building
funds that are donated through a Reynosa Fundraiser, this property, to be named “Casa
Sara”, will be a new blessing for Casa Hogar and its endeavors to serve the impoverished

Part of your donations goes to the
salary of the staff which Casa Hogar

100 children takes special people to
do special work. Here are a few of
the people that we rely on to do the
difficult yet inspiring job.
