Influential research. Trusted analysis. We are the Centre for International Governance Innovation: an independent, non-partisan think
tank with an objective and uniquely global perspective. Our research, opinions and public voice make a
difference in today’s world by bringing clarity and innovative thinking to global policy making.
Our research is guided by six key themes that evolve alongside the world’s global governance
concerns: Conflict Management & Security; Environment & Energy; Innovation & Productivity; Internet
Governance & Jurisdiction; Summits & Institutions; and Trade & Finance. The result? Policy, new
thinking and dialogue from experts in three programs.
Global Economy
In a time of unpredictable economic, social and
political power shifts, CIGI believes improved
governance of the global economy can increase
prosperity for all humankind. The Global Economy
Program focuses on macroeconomic regulation,
financial regulation and trade policy.
Global Security & Politics
Recognizing that no two challenges or conflicts are
the same in different regional settings, the Global
Security & Politics Program focuses on a range of
issues in global security, conflict management,
diplomacy and governance.
International Law The International Law Research Program aims to
strengthen the global rule of law through research
on global innovation, justice, equality, prosperity and
sustainability in Canada and globally.
