Comes with the polymer ramrod. The overall condition is very good. 12-090-0036 B-36 (75-125) Antique*

2. Thompson Center Renegade Smoothbore MusketSerial # 195239, 56 caliber, 27" barrel, with good bore having a little oxidation the length. The blued finish is about 95%. The stock is very good with very few defects. The rear sight is fully adjustable. The furniture is all iron. No patch box. This can be used in areas that require shotguns only, as this does not have a rifled bore. It can be used with solid ball or shot. Double set triggers. Comes with the wood ramrod. The overall condition is good to very good. 12-090-0038 B-39 (100-175) Antique *

3. Toriimatsu Nagoya Last Ditch Type 99 Arisaka Bolt Action RifleSerial # 20134, 7.7 Jap caliber, 25-1/2" barrel, with very good bore. The metal finish is about 90%. The stock and handguard are good, with lots of dings. The mum has been ground. This rifle is all that one could want from a last ditch specimen: poor metal finish, un-ground welds, few markings, wood butt plate, exposed-weld safety, abbreviated handguard, no guard on front sight, fixed rear sight, and more. A great example of hurried production with fewer materials toward the close of the war. The overall condition is good. 12-090-0021 C-8 (125-200) C&R

4. Remington Score Master RifleNSN, .22 S,L,LR with 25" barrel with very good bore. This bolt action rifle has its Remington magazine and a Weaver G4 scope. The rear sight is not present. The metal surfaces are mostly brown patina. The mum has been ground off. The stock is dented with ground in soil on low spots, but it was lightly sanded and refinished some time ago. A wrist crack was repaired at that time. The refinish is crazing in many areas. The safety is the knurled type with notch. The serial numbers on the bolt and receiver match. No stop screw for the butt plate or stock screw. The stock also has a rail for accessories under the forend. Dovetail scope blocks are mounted on the barrel. This would make a great start for a custom LH target rifle project. It needs a barrel reline, the remaining part for the trigger and a bolt. The octagonal receiver is marked 002L N. GERSLEY ROSS PK N.J. The overall condition is fair. 12-082-0051 B-28 (100-175)

The stock and forend have been nicely refinished, and are very good with a complete but worn butt plate. The takedown is very smooth. Made from 1931 to 1949. The overall condition is very good. 12-100-0012 E-11 (325-450) C&R

21. Stoeger Condor Field Combo O/U Shotgun w/2 Barrel SetsSerial # 13172005, 12 & 20 gauge 3", 28" & 26" barrels, with excellent bores. All have Mod screw-in chokes installed. The blued finish is about 98%. The stock and forend have a few rubs from storage, but rate excellent. Both barrels have raised vent ribs with gold color beads. The action requires recoil to fire the second shot without putting the safety on and off before pulling the trigger again (this can be done for dry firing). The overall condition is excellent. 12-083-0007 C-11 & C-12 (275-425)

30. Remington Sportsman 48 Skeet Semi Auto ShotgunSerial # 3107309, 12 gauge 2-3/4", 25-1/2" barrel, with very good bore with a cylinder bore and a raised vent rib with white front and silver mid beads. 31. German 98 Mauser dou 1945 (Czech arsenal) Last Ditch Bolt Action RifleSerial # 4621, 8mm Mauser caliber, 24" barrel, with fair bore having soft, dark, pitted rifling. The metal finish is about 95% original, with some scratches and normal wear. The stock is good, with dings from use and storage. The stamped steel butt plate is good, and is the last ditch type with a hole through the side of the toe. Non-matching serial numbers. Non-hooded front sight. Tangent rear sight. Nazi marked on the left of the barrel, and Waffenamt A80 on the right. Everything is correct for an as-issued last ditch rifle. These late war rifles are much rarer than their Japanese Arisaka last ditch counterparts. As German factories were destroyed, these were made in arsenals in other countries, often from salvaged or remaining German parts, and many saw limited use as supply lines were cut and troops captured. The overall condition is good. 12-074-0004 A-15 (250-400)

32. Rare L. Ancion-Marx Commercial Vetterli Sporting Bolt Action RifleSerial # 719C, 10.4x38R or 10.4x47R Centerfire caliber, 24" barrel, with good bore having some pitting but very good rifling. This rifle is an unusual product of the Leopold Ancion-Marx Company of Liege, Belgium. They made low quality revolvers, but there is no record of rifle production. This rifle, which bears all of the required Belgian proof marks and the L. Ancion-Marx triangular factory mark, was apparently made by one of their gunsmiths as a custom hunting rifle using a Vetterli action. The fit and finish are excellent quality, and the metal retains 98% of a combination of original and touch-up finish over some light pitting. The stock is in good condition, with slightly soft checkering and inlaid black diamond and black tip half diamond. The rear sights are the express type, with one fixed and one folding leaf. The front sight is an inverted V on a milled ramp. The action works correctly. The in addition to the action screws, the barrel is held by a contoured wedge. The caliber is probably one of the two Vetterli cartridges, and the bore is correct for them. There are vintage sling swivels installed, probably original to the gun. The overall condition is good to very good. 12-075-0007 A-1 (250-400)

above the serial number. The patents are 1887, 1889 and 1905. The frame size on the barrel is 2 with a small K next to it. The barrel is also marked D (Damascus) with a 3 (grade) above it, 4 4 weight (4lb,4oz), and a small C. The matte rib has a silver color bead, and the milled matte area continues to the end of the barrel. The butt plate is the type that shows the dog from the shoulders forward. Both are good, with very small flaws at the tips of the heel and toe. The screw heads are all very good, with the exception of the pivot, which has a little damage. The pull is 14-3/8”. 124. Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle with Accessories & ToolingSerial # 144203A, 33 WCF caliber, 24" barrel with good bore having light pitting and good rifling. Full length magazine tube. The finish has overall light pinpricking and the remains of an old cleaning, which left some surface pitting on the receiver and some buffed out scratches. The rifle appears to have been reblued or touched up decades ago, as patina has formed on many areas over the reblue. The cleaning was light enough that all of the lettering and numbers are complete and clear. The action is smooth. The rear sight has a better finish than the barrel. The front sight is a half-disk with serrated front and ivory bead at the top. The stock and forend are very good, and may have been professionally refinished years ago, as they have developed a pleasing patina. The butt plate is excellent, with a pleasing gray patina. There is a small chipo on the bottom of the forend at the receiver. The consignor collected a number of 33 WCF tools, supplies and accessories over the years that he has included with this auction: an Ideal bullet mold in original box; a vintage dipper to go with the mold; a set of CH 33 WCF reloading dies for modern presses, two shell holders, a bag of about 50 lead bullets; a vintage Western box of 33 WCF, some of which may be reloads, and some original; three boxes of 33 WCF reloads & some empty brass formed from 45-70 brass (about 50 rounds); several reamers for 33 WCF chamber forming; several chamber and headspace gauges for 33 WCF. The tools and accessories add a nice completeness to this vintage rifle. The rifle was made in 1907. In spite of the refinishing work, this rifle has great eye appeal, and has aged very beautifully. The overall condition is good to very good. 12-101-0001 E-31 (2500-3200) C&R

tumbler has either been replaced or cleaned abrasively, as it is much brighter than the other parts. The rear of the lock does not sit flush with the stock. The stock is good, with a few small cracks. The musketoon-type ramrod swivel is present, the three-hole escutcheon on the left side opposite the lock does not have a ring bar, and the front of the stock protrudes slightly ahead of the forward band, all of which are typical of conversions to non-cavalry types. Some of the parts may be commonly found field replacements, as the bolster is larger than its cutout on the lock, and protrudes a little forward of the lock. The stock has a 73 stamp behind the tang. The nickel finish is about 95%, with some areas of wear and some flaking. The engraving covers approximately 40%, and is found on the sides, top and backstrap of the frame, the cylinder and the sides of the barrel. It is not known at what stage the revolver was engraved, polished and plated. Some of the lettering is weak, which may be from polishing or from plating over it. Some areas look like they were cleaned before polishing, as there is evidence of pinpricking under the plating. The serial numbers match on the grips, frame (under the grips), barrel (under the bore) and cylinder. The cylinder is about 1” long, so this would have accommodated some of the 30 Rimfire Long cartridges. The overall condition is good. 12-081-0006 S-3 (300-550) Antique *

273. NRA Centennial Musket Commemorative Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action RifleSerial # NRA452, 30-30 caliber, 26" barrel with excellent bright bore. The blued finish is mint with one exception. The heel of the butt plate came into contact with moisture, and has pitted. The stock is mint. This version of the commemorative has the full-length musket stock with blued nose cap. With a replacement butt plate, this would rate mint. 12-093-0048 Lobby (400-600) C&R

274. Smith & Wesson High Polish Model 60 DA Revolver with 1 DigitSerial # R4, 38 S&W caliber, 2" (1-7/8" actual) barrel with excellent bright bore. Made in 1969 when the serial number series was changed to an R prefix. This is one of two Smith & Wessons in this auction that share the same serial number. The finish is an almost mirror polish. It appears that the frame was polished after the address stamp was added to the right side, but before the S&W logo was added to the right side. The barrel markings appear to be post polishing, as well. The finish is in excellent condition. The grips are S&W medallion grips that are a very dark wood, and may be ebony. They are in very good condition. An extremely difficult to find combination of high polish, single digit serial number and rare material grips, especially when considering it was owned by a famous author and firearms instructor. The overall condition is excellent. 12-093-0022 Lobby (3000-3500)

276. Colt Courier DA RevolverSerial # 38547, 22 LR caliber, 3" barrel with excellent bright bore. The blued finish is about 70% with most gone from the grip area and the trigger guard. The grips are good. The action functions correctly. This has recessed chambers to protect the cartridge rims. This is one of the rarest modern Colts, as this aluminum frame, light weight revolver model was only made in 1955 and 1956. This one was made in 1955. The overall condition is good. 12-093-0024 S-14 (750-1050)

began in 1986 at the Colt plant. The revolver has the parkerized finish that was adopted when the model was revived in 1984 for a couple of years. The finish is about 98% and the gold medallion grips that meet under the butt are excellent. The fit and finish, however, leave something to be desired. The side plate does not sit flush with the frame, and the surface of the crane looks like a rough casting. The trigger guard has milling marks. The finish is thin in spots. The revolver does not look like it was ever fired, and the bore and cylinders looks like they have some parkerizing process debris still in them. There are other things that make this look like it was not quite ready to leave the factory. Made in 1986. The fact that it was given right off the line to a famous firearms author and instructor during a historic period in Colt’s history make this a true Colt collectible, and the not-quite-finished appearance emphasizes this. Even though the finish is incomplete, the revolver is fully functional. The overall condition is mint. 12-093-0013 S-14 (450-600)

283. Extremely Rare Smith & Wesson Experimental 22 Short Target Model 41 Semi Auto PistolSerial # X1001, 22 Short caliber, 5-1/2" and 7-3/8" barrels with excellent bright bores. This pistol has a bright blue alloy slide, bright blue 22 Short barrels and a steel frame that appears to have been made in the S&W experimental shop and not given a final finish, as it is in the white and shows tool marks. It has acquired a gray patina. The serial number indicates it was not made as a production gun, and there is no model number. The 7-3/8” barrel has the profiled under-lug containing the insert to which the muzzle brake attaches. It has a low profile rear sight inletted onto the barrel extension and a red insert front sight that is staked in place in a hole in the contoured front sight blade. The front sight blade is pinned to the ramp under it. The barrel has about 95% finish, and is marked 22 SHORT CTG. The 5-1/2” barrel is the heavy type. It has the more common high, wide rear sight blade that is in a dovetail on the barrel extension, and the usual undercut front sight. The barrel has about 95% finish, and is marked 22 SHORT CTG. The grips are ambidextrous and the wood color does not match (possibly rosewood and walnut) further indicating a tool room experimental model. The frame has the cocking indicator. Massad Ayoob was a frequent visitor to firearms factories, and his collection has a few firearms that could only have been found at factories during such visits. This appears to be one of them. Comes with a Model 41 box (not correct SN) two S&W marked 5-round 22 Short magazines, both barrels and the muzzle brake. The overall condition is very good. 12-093-0032 Lobby Case (5000-6500) C&R

284. Extremely Rare Single Digit SN Smith & Wesson Chiefs Special Pre-Mod 36 DA RevolverSerial # 4, 38 Spl caliber, 2" barrel with excellent bright bore. This is the revolver and box pictured on page 208 of Massad Ayoob’s Greatest Guns in the World, Krause Publications/Gun Digest Books, 2010, which clearly shows the serial number. The blued finish is about 98%, with a little silvering at the muzzle and a light turn ring. The grips appear to be smooth rosewood, and are in excellent condition. The front sight is the early round version; the trigger guard is the “baby Chief Special” first variation; the barrel is pinned; the frame is the five-screw type, and the cylinder latch is a traditional type rather than a flat type. This comes with the red S&W box with reinforced corners and a white S&W label with blue printing for a 2 inch blue Chiefs Special. The serial number is low enough that it may have actually travelled to the International Association of Chiefs of Police convention in Colorado Springs in 1950 where the new J-frame revolver was first shown. Asked what the name of the new gun should be, the attendees naturally chose the name Chiefs Special. This is one of two Smith & Wesson in this auction that share the same serial number, one with the plain number. The overall condition is very good. 12-093-0023 Lobby (3000-4500) C&R

285. Custom Mini Compact Austin Behlert Smith & Wesson Model 39 Semi Auto PistolSerial # 88043, 9mm Parabellum caliber, 3-1/2" barrel with excellent bright bore. The satin hard chrome finish is about 98%. The smooth custom rosewood grips are scuffed on both sides from use, but are good. The slide is marked Customized by Austin Behlert, Cranfort, NJ. Austin Behlert (1918-2005) was the legendary firearms modification pioneer who created countless “mini” versions of full size pistols. The pistol has had an S&W adjustable revolver sight installed with a red-insert front sight. The grip was deeply finger grooved. The barrel has been contoured to mate precisely with a custom barrel bushing surface. The frame was shortened by one round for better concealment, and the magazine was altered to match. In the 1970’s when Massad bought this, it cost $1,400 as a customized pistol when a stock Model 39 cost $140. Today, this modification could cost twice that. Comes with one magazine and a copy of The Complete Book of Handguns, Vol 12 No 1, ©1995, featuring this very pistol. The article compared this specific pistol to the S&W 3913. Obtaining a custom pistol from a famous handgun expert is difficult. Obtaining one also modified by a famous gunsmith and written about in a national publication is nearly impossible. This is quite literally a one-of-a-kind pistol. The overall condition is very good. 12-093-0029 S-13 (200-2200)
