CLASS NEWSClass of 2020

Our concession stand was ridiculously successful. Thanks to all parents and other members of the school community for the donations! Stay tuned for next week's update on Homecoming! Hope to have photos to share!

We need water for HOCO, as there is only one water fountain in the town hall. We run out of drinks every year. If you would like to donate a case of water for the dance, please contact Mrs. Capassso at [email protected]

Our Homecoming dance is October 13th in the Great Hall at Ayer Town Hall from 7-11:00 pm. Please be prompt in picking up your students. Do not wait for the phone call, please! Likewise, please do not drop off your student before 6:50. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Thank you all for everything you do! We are successful because we know that parents and guardians are involved and supportive!

A perfect Vision for the future!

Lolly Capasso/Class Advisor

UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT WITH Mrs. ALLARD

We are already halfway through the first quarter where the focus has been on developing a community that practices civil discourse. Students will be using Google Classroom to have online discussions where they will be applying the “netiquette” strategies necessary on an educational discussion board. Topics will be relevant to the study of the Constitution of the United States as a living document and how it applies to our society.

In class, students have engaged in small and large group discussions about the necessity of government and the difference between government and politics. Moving forward, we will continue to learn about the foundations of our Constitution and Supreme Court cases that shaped our modern world.

I am excited to continue working with your students as the year progresses. Please contact me at my email listed below if you have any questions. Keep an eye out in the newsletter for more updates throughout the year.

SCHOOL NURSEWhy get a flu vaccine?

CDC conducts studies each year to determine how well the influenza (flu) vaccine protects against flu illness. While vaccine effectiveness can vary, recent studies show that flu vaccination reduces the risk of flu illness by between 40% and 60% among the overall population during seasons when most circulating flu viruses are well-matched to the flu vaccine.

Flu vaccination can keep you from getting sick with flu.

Flu vaccination can reduce the risk of flu-associated hospitalization for children, working age adults, and older adultsFlu vaccination is an important preventive tool for people with chronic health conditions.

Vaccination helps protect women during and after pregnancy.

Flu vaccine can be life-saving in children.

Getting vaccinated yourself may also protect people around you, including those who are more vulnerable to serious flu illness, like babies and young children, older people, and people with certain chronic health conditions.
